"The hotel seemed very touch and go at first. The room was nice, the wifi, a/c, and water were all working correctly. There were some issues, that being the parking. 50 dollars a day to valet or they reccomend self parking at a lot for 40 dollars a day. The elevators were almost all out of order, going down to 1 of 4 elevators was not acceptable for a hotel this large, we spent several hours waiting on and planning our times around this. It was very frustrating. Other than that, it was a decent hotel, 8 dollar water type deal."

"The process was easy to get an available room for a reasonable price, when at the last minute our flight was cancelled. It was late at night when we checked in, and the staff was quick and efficient getting us set up. The room was clean and somewhat updated, except for the tub. I would caution you that we did order drinks from the bar, it was expensive for what we got, more than the going price for 2 drinks I thought. The shuttle back and forth from the airport was in part why we chose this hotel, they were quick and helpful and on time. I'd highly recommend."

"Overall an ok experience. This was our second time staying here. Our first experience was 3 years ago and was terrible but decided to give it another try. It was definitely better thanks to the breakfast staff!!! Each staff member was helpful, nice, and professional. It’s not the cleanest property to stay at and a bit run down, but the price justifies it."

"The staff, location and the hotel charm was amazing. The rooms, however show age. Room 808, my first room, the TV didn’t work, the ice machine on the 8 th floor didn’t work. The furniture was heavily scratched. The room didn’t have a small fridge, that was probably my fault for not checking at booking. I was given an upgraded suite when I voiced my disappointment, 1209. Which was not expected and very much appreciated. But, that room also had issues. Once again the TV didn’t work, the ice machine on the floor didn’t work, oh jeez. The room was very spacious and even had a small kitchen and washer and dryer, amazing!!! The kitchen had a badly cracked and yellowing ceiling light, the fridge had ice on one of the shelves and water was leaking from behind a locked door in the kitchen. This hotel is an historic landmark, a grand place and it deserves better. The beds were comfy, nice shower and coffee in the room, great. The lobby was beautiful, marble floors, atrium and a crystal chandelier. I was expecting a nicer room. There were a few pluses, but the minuses outweighed them. It’s like an piece of candy that looks delicious, but when you bite into it you chip a tooth. These are my observations in the hope a few improvements are made. "

"The place was nice, be aware valet is $60 per day. There is a parking area (but you have to pay as well of course) best to do valet! The room was smaller than I thought. I’d have to say is they should thoroughly check everything before allowing people to check in. Two lights weren’t working, no body wash and the fridge didn’t work either.. the second day the AC went out, but had someone minutes later came to fix the issue. Staff was kinda, local area, nice hotel."

"Was a fun experience. The property and architecture were great. Room was nice and clean. Staff were helpful. Advice for future travelers, understand that it is down town and food is plentiful but with down town prices. I recommend Gus’ fried chicken across the street! "
