Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Rooms are very small and I do think the prices shot up with it being marathon weekend too drastically for what you get. This is a budget, value hotel and I paid around £280 for one night which is far too much with what is on offer within the hotel.
Henry was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome and taken care of. We had a large amount of luggage, and Henry went above and beyond to help us with everything, making what could have been a stressful arrival completely effortless. His kindness, professionalism, and willingness to assist in any way possible truly stood out. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he consistently went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Henry is a real asset to the team, and his exceptional customer service made a lasting impression on us. Thank you, Henry, for making our visit so easy and enjoyable!

Liked: Staff & service
I had a room where we had to take turns moving around; there were two of us in our fifties, and it was really small, nothing like the picture when I made the reservation. If I had seen how small it was, I would have thought twice about booking. The staff was very nice. No elevator. Everything was very basic.
Excellent location, clean and no problem with the one staff member we met, who was similarly indifferent to us.
Booked for convenient city centre location and aware that the room would have no window, but hadn't appreciated it would barely have space to turn around in. No doubt the room qualifies as a double by some technical, legal, definition, but can't recommend it to anyone but the most petite and light luggaged of single travellers.
Edinburgh generally is expensive, but boutique London hotels would blush to charge this amount where the amenities are towels and toilet roll...oh and complimentary ear plugs, presumably instead of any effort to sound proof as it would only further reduce the room space to do so.
Another time if short of options I would book out of town and pay for a taxi with the spare change.
Oh also, no lift so if you don't fancy 3 steep flights of stairs it's worth requesting a lower room.
Beware the room is EXTREMELY small, however it’s a nice place to stay. The service was excellent.

Very good location, in the city centre. However it was for my liking a little too crammed in. Even for one person a bit challenging. But I suppose this is what justifies the price in such a prime location. Maybe some more transparency on it being the size it is would help going forward.
Room was clean but no way to turn air conditioning off , shower was excellent, staff were great very friendly, polite and helpful, room is definitely not a double room my husband and I had to get ready separately so that there was room to move , there is no pictures that show how small these rooms are so you think the rooms are way bigger very much false advertising I would say, I would NOT be recommending this place for couples definitely not , location is great , o and the window didn’t open so no fresh air into the room at any point
Over priced for the type of room and very basic. No tea/coffee in room. Shower and loo area was very small and shower was difficult to get right heat wise, most mornings it was a Luke warm shower. Positive was a great view of the castle.
