"Lovely small hotel in a quiet little village with amazing views. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It is a perfect place to enjoy walking or just visiting the lovely houses nearby. Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful, and the bar was well stocked with a good choice of beers, offering a range of classic pub fayre. The rooms and bathroom were spotless. Would fully recommend."

"Room was clean but dated and could do with a refresh. Evening meal was excellent, I had the steak & Malbec pie and it is one of the best pies I have ever eaten. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, there were two of us and one wanted black pudding and one didn’t but neither got any, nor did we get the fried bread, there were only two juices available, orange and apple (I think) but the orange juice ran out and not replenished although there were staff around. You could have tea or coffee by request but only one latte or cappuccino, there were no cereals, fruit or danish etc which you would expect from a hotel chain such as this (Marstons). However the staff, especially at dinner, were absolutely fantastic, always on hand to help and not too overbearing with the usual ‘is your meal ok’ type scenario. They are a credit to the company. The reason for the 3 stars is the room needing updating and the breakfast."

"This was a lovely cottage, which had everything required for a stay with dogs. The enclosed garden was a plus as it meant the dogs could be safely let out.I would highly recommend this cottage for couples or a family to enable you to explore the Peaks National Park."
