"Right near the centre of Buxton and train station. Stayed the night, standard room, but grand entrance when arrive. Parking charge £5 pay at reception.staff friendly no issues."

"The only thing I can criticise on is the wall sockets . The table in front of the mirror is to high so your unable to use a plug in the socket unless you move the table out from the wall"

"Amazing building, great spa area and has a lovely bar area too. Staff were friendly enough and helpful enough but you would expect them to at least ask if you have had a nice stay, or even say goodbye after you’ve checked out and paid the bill. On arrival we were also not given any directions to our room and had to ask. Five star hotels should be doing the basics properly in my opinion. Breakfast staff were brilliant but breakfast was underwhelming, unfortunately - why write on your menu fresh...

"Had an impromptu night away over Bank Holiday. We picked the 1st sunny weekend and Matlock was packed with tourists. The hotel is nice, reception were very pleasant and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. TV didn't work, but we weren't in the room to watch TV. My only small complaint is the bar is open all day, but it can be a bit tricky to find someone to serve. It's also only open until 22:00 and the restaurant stops serving food at 20:00. It would have been nice to have a few nights here...
