Jenny welcomed us and helped with our luggage. She took us to our room explaining how the electrics in the room worked, the gates opening and closing along with times for breakfast and dinner. Such a personal touch is truly appreciated.

Enjoyed stay. Friendly very accommodating. Quiet place, just what I needed to start my holiday.lovely country setting.

Nice hotel close to Melton Town Centre.

We had a very pleasant stay at the White Lion for the 2016 Burghley Horse Trials. It is a quaint country inn located in a quiet village, with friendly staff and good food. Word of caution - although the inn's profile on Expedia correctly states that it is in the village of Whissendine, our email confirmation from Expedia incorrectly placed it in the nearby town of Oakham.

Absolutely lovely hotel. The staff were all so accommodating. Beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. My only suggestion would be for the hotel to look into portable air conditioners for the rooms. The first half of my stay had abnormally hot weather and a portable air conditioner for the room would have made sleeping a bit more comfortable at night. Other than that, a lovely stay, stunning patio and excellent food

It is a great hotel, friendly staff. I would go there again

Great reception by Beverley, the owner. The room was comfortable and clean and larger than we expected. Great breakfasts. Easy walk to restaurants and local shops. Also beautiful 12th century church and many old houses in the village. Easy access for Derby, East Midlands Airport and Donnington racetrack.

Great location Excellent value

The Talbot Hotel is a very quaint hotel. It’s location in Oundle is ideal and central. The courtyard is a great place to soak up the sun with a cold beverage. Dorotha and Aaron were a pleasure to deal with, as were all staff. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location.

We loved the charm of The Old Pheasant. We stayed in the Rutland Suite and it was very spacious for our family of four. Our teenagers appreciated having their own beds (instead of sharing a double). Supper was delicious and the breakfast included with the stay was dynamite! Wish our schedule had allowed for another night here.

Very comfortable and clean with a wonderful breakfast included.

The room was well appointed with a welcomed king sized comfy bed . Staff was helpful and there to help and make your stay pleasant. Parking is on the road but safe , it was a bit crowded but expected since the stay was on a bank holiday.

Realy nice place !!
