An Underwhelming Stay
The room was great. Some of the staff was awesome, like the manager Rachel (she was the best), the young lady who helped me move rooms and the server who brought me room service on my first night. The rest of the staff, particularly the front desk clerk and the male concierge, gave me the impression that I was an inconvenience at best. I think my expectations were too high? The reviews had me amped to hole myself up in the hotel, order room service for every meal and get some rest/work done. I did do those things, and enjoy myself. It was like going to the beach and expecting sunshine, warm sand, and a wonderful time but when you get there you've got a sky full of clouds. It doesn't ruin the day, it's just not as lovely as you were hoping. I'm talking about tone of voice and energy, not butt kissing. The little things.
The first day, everyone (except the front desk clerk) was amazing. I was unhappy with my room, it was on the 3rd floor and the lit billboards were shining right into the room plus the noise was... well loud. I called down and Rachel with the young lady at the concierge desk did their best to find me something else (the young lady even showed me the rooms). I decided to stay in my current room and change the next day, I still feel bad about her showing me the alternatives that I didn't pick. The server was really sweet. Friday was awesome. Sat. and Sun. were good too. I just felt like a huge inconvenience anytime I called down. I went out to avoid calling down.
