Nestled in the San Luis Valley, this charming town offers easy access to the Rio Grande National Forest's hiking trails. Don't miss the UFO Watchtower nearby, where stargazers gather to scan the night sky for mysterious lights.
We stayed here on our way to Great Dunes National Monument, CO. Fritz (not sure of spelling) was awesome to deal with, and he and his family live on the property. The cabin we stayed in was spotless, and super comfy. We enjoyed having our coffee by the river in the morning. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic destination, or just passing through.

We were just travelling through Monte Vista with a family of four and this was a perfect stay. Check-in as made very easy and the room was nice, clean and our kids LOVED the bunk beds. The bunk beds were a bit squeaky and we could hear the guests above us walking around but these were both very minor concerns.
Our kids loved the pool and my wife and I used the spa, which were both open later which was nice as we didn't get in until after dark.
I would recommend to anyone passing through or...
