"The room was small (as expected) but so cozy! We found ourselves struggling getting over the jet lag because we wanted to stay holed in our room. The AC one night had an error over night and wasn’t cooling but went away in the morning, after researching seems the error was “an obstruction was blocking the outer fan” so a bird maybe made a home in the wrong spot overnight. The Cafe food was very delicious and had great egg options for breakfast, didn’t try the dinner though but going off what we had in the morning I’m sure it’s just as delicious. I would recommend this stay to friends in the future and the community around poppies is a great place to explore and has many other great food options!"

"Absolutely beautiful location and views are amazing. Very quiet. Right on a canal with deck. Great base to explore Amsterdam, Edam, Monnickenham, Zannes schans windmills, Voldeham etc. Very comfortable cottage in a lovely village. 10 min drive to a supermarket in Monnickenham or there is a small corner shop walking distance. Bus approx lovely 5 min walk down cobblestone street to the cottage. Use of bike and canoe, we did not use.Very clean. Has 4 burner cooktop and microwave, no oven which is fine. No washing machine in the cottage but Lia mentioned she could assist if required. Heating very efficient. We had a very wet day so went to a laundromat in a nearby villageEasy free car parking. No stairs to or in cottage.Great communication from LiaA great stay"

"we absolutely loved this hotel. its warm and modern (yet also cool retro) design felt fancy but not stuffy. the front desk was very helpful with everything we needed. there was complimentary sparkling and still water for when we arrived. they also supply complimentary coffee, tea, milk and sugar in the room. the bed was super comfortable, the black out drapes made it easy to sleep in late and the shower had great pressure. the breakfast had lots of options and quality food. very delicious. one of the best things was that public transportation was incredibly easy - only like a 4 minute walk to the metro that takes you anywhere in the city. my only small issue was that the restaurant staff misgendered me multiple times. i know this is a luxury problem and most likely will not affect my staying here again but coming from NYC, i guess i expected a cool hip hotel in amsterdam to be a little more forward thinking. overall the hotel was an excellent experience and we will stay again."

"We had such a lovely stay on the boat; far enough away from the city to feel like a proper little escape, but super easy to access, (we ventured in everyday), & you don’t have to embark on an epic expedition to get there. There’s something rather magical about being gently rocked to sleep by the bob of the waves. Far better than a lullaby, and considerably more nautical. We loved spending lazy time on the deck with a book, watching the world drift by, and then settling around the table for a few rounds of cards in the evening (with varying degrees of sporting behaviour, naturally). A really nice bonus is that the listing is attached to Casey’s houseboat, so Casey is right there and available to help if you need anything, while still giving you plenty of space to enjoy your stay. Highly recommended for anyone agile and open minded, looking for something a little different in their visit to Amsterdam."
