Terrible property. Only one person working at the front which makes it very inconvenient. Janky elevator. Bathroom was ugly and did not look clean. The whole property needs to go under renovation. Everything is beyond outdated. Property is not well kept. Terrible experience. It was so bad I left the property early and stayed elsewhere. Walls are paper thin. I was able to hear someone crying about their relationship struggles and cussing out whoever she was talking to. This property needs to be at most a 2 star hotel and not 4.

Downtown LA Proper was such a beautiful, unique hotel. The lobby, restaurants, and rooftop are all just as awe inspiring as they look in pictures. Our room was on the smaller side but laid out well, clean, and beautiful. There isn't much to do in teh immediately surrounding neighborhood, so plan to walk several blocks and/or be in a car to get where you're going.

We had a great stay here and would definitely come back. The room was spotless, spacious, and full of character, with a cute patio, beautiful vintage-style decor, and unique painted walls.
The property feels peaceful and spread out, with plenty of space to relax privately. There are several fire pits and seating areas throughout the desert landscaping, along with lots of trees that add to the atmosphere. The pool was clean and surrounded by plenty of lounge chairs.
The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always available when needed. We also loved the gated parking, which is a huge bonus. The location couldn't be better, with downtown, restaurants, and shops all just minutes away.
Overall, a charming, comfortable place to stay, and we'd happily book it again.
