Bearing in mind you will have luggage it won't be a good experience to carry cases 2 flights of stairs up and down. The staff were not always around to help me with my luggage. I booked a taxi to return to the train station, housekeeping were informed I needed help going down the 2 flights of stairs but, they did not arrive and I somehow in my 70s got my cases downstairs. "Lovely views of Loch Awe. The driver wasn’t so happy about the long single track road but the other two enjoyed the solitude and quiet at the end of the road. Rooms are comfortable and all different."

"This hotel has no person on site. There is a lock box and you will get an email with instructions. I had to phone when I did not get an email ( probably because of a new email address); House was very quiet. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a lake view. But the bathroom trash was not emptied from previous guests and there was a used sanitary napkin there. Also the blanket in the closet was in a jumble making me think it had been used but not cleaned or folded. It made me uncomfortable...

"What a treat to stay at this hotel! Sitting in the indoor hot tub with the views across the loch was magical and something I won’t forget. The spa was immaculate and a real treat after a long day of driving.
Rooms were beautifully decorated, staff were friendly, and it is a very dog friendly hotel. 10/10"

"The George was brilliant. We were travelling to Islay and it was intended as a stop off. We loved it! From the moment of our arrival, welcome from the staff was great, rooms lovely and bar / restaurant excellent. Food was superb. I can only recommend it to anyone travelling in that area."
