In summertime, this artificial lake is a stunning blue-green color which makes for some amazing photo opportunities. There is often a herd of bighorn sheep right along the highway too. However, mid-winter is when this location really shines! When the lake freezes over, methane bubbles become trapped in the ice, which you can walk or even skate on. You can see right to the bottom. Ever walked on a bubbly, crystal-clear lake?
