From the outside and on the first floor lobby, the hotel looks nice, but specifically our room on the 6th floor was in need of cleaning (carpet had multiple stains, remnant of mini fridge, but no fridge, AC not cooling, and WiFi did not worked). We only stayed one night so didn’t bother to say anything, but the Montpelier the city is well worth a visit.

Location convenient for train station. Lost 2 stars because there was no AC in the hot summer in southern France. A professionally printed sign in the elevator with fans in the room suggests this isn’t a recent problem. They shouldn’t advertise they have AC or should invest in a more reliable system.

Loved the little cafe next door (but with an entrance inside the hotel for guests). The optional breakfast that could be included with the room was plentiful and delicious. The people were friendly and tolerated my French. They also had gluten free options for me. Cute outside seating area. My friend suggested Maison Soleil because it was close to both the train station and her home. I would definitely stay there again.
