Restaurant was not as shown on picture

We were lucky with a great view of Denali on a clear afternoon. We had a standard 2 queen room and it was spacious and comfortable. There is no AC, but the window opened and there was a ceiling fan and a standing fan that made it confortable. We didn't eat at the restaurants, but they looked nice We did have breakfast atvthe coffee shop. Muffins and the breakfast sandwich were very good, as well as the coffee. Staff was friendly.

This hotel was nicer than my usual, and much more upscale hotel than I usually pay for. It has several stories with shopping options right by the lobby. The rooms were clean and quiet except for I noticed some mildew in the caulking of the bathtub. The staff was willing to help book our activities, but they weren't very friendly. I'm used to hospitality staff greeting me and smiling, but this time it was the other way around. And every time I interacted with one of the staff members they had something negative to say, about how tired they were or how difficult work was. Perhaps some friendliness training might be in order.

Very much enjoyed our 3 nights at Pike's. Our room was clean and comfortable; the blackout curtains worked well to keep the midnight sun from lighting up the room too much. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was good as well with several hot options. Really enjoyed the nice areas in the back along the river. Would stay here again.
