"The town is a Hidden gem. Perfect combination of history, welcoming locals, and beautiful landscape. Walking to the top of el cerro and through the town, while hearing from a charismatic guide how and why things were and are. Later to the creek with natural toboggans, clean water and amazing views. "We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel — we only wish it had been longer. The amenities looked amazing, and although we only had time to use the jacuzzi, it was great. The room was spotless, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The staff provided excellent service, and the food options were good and reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be back! My only suggestion for improvement is the access road to the property — it could use some repairs, as it’s quite rough on vehicles."

"I stayed at El Mirador de Villa de Leyva from Friday to Sunday and overall had a great experience. The hotel is rustic and simple, but the view from the room is absolutely stunning—overlooking all of Villa de Leyva and the surrounding mountains. That view alone made the stay worth it. The room was spacious and clean, with hot water and a comfortable temperature (no A/C needed). It’s quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. The hotel includes a small restaurant where they serve a basic Colombian breakfast—nothing fancy but good enough to start the day. I didn’t try lunch or dinner. Staff is limited but very friendly and attentive. One thing to keep in mind: the road to the hotel is unpaved. Our GPS first sent us through a steep back entrance that felt unsafe—make sure to use the front road instead. While the hotel isn’t within walking distance of the plaza, it’s a short drive away. Once there, you’ll find tons of restaurants (local and international) at great prices, plus plenty of shops to buy souvenirs and crafts. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic, no-frills place to stay with one of the best views in town, I’d definitely recommend it. "
