"We stayed at Villa Almana recently on a work trip in early June - it was a last minute booking and as we drove up the hill from Cernobbio, we felt like the luckiest humans on earth! What an incredible view from the top, looking out over Lake Como. Over the coming days, we experienced the generosity of our hosts and the peace and quiet of the villa. Every detail is well thought out and relaxation and comfort are the core of what is provided for guests. We had delicious, hearty breakfasts every morning and excellent recommendations for local spots to eat dinner. The design choices made throughout the villa are absolutely stunning - so much so that you will want to spend ALL your time here instead of exploring the countryside! One of the best places we've ever stayed! "

"Home from home away atmosphere and the friendly demeanour of the family running the business made us feel comfortable and helped us with a few tricky issues we encountered. The food and service was also excellent.. We would highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in a small community atmosphere but only 5 km from Como. "

"We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Asnigo. Beautiful view with our room, firm comfy bed, quiet, and very kind service. As others mentioned, the cab situation in Cernobbio is abysmal and the walk back up to the hotel can be a steep challenge but was only a real issue when we were on a time crunch. And even then we made it work. (If you have a car this would be a non-issue I’d imagine.) The staff kindly assisted with calling us cabs and the walk down the hill, though steep is quite nice. All in all, still very much worth it for the price and unbeatable views of the lake!"

"We stayed here 4 days in May. The views are as advertised- as spectacular as any you can find around Lake Como. The house is solid, tucked into the hillside. There is a spacious balcony to relax on, have a meal and enjoy the views. The bed was firm but comfortable. The shower worked well. There is a large TV for Italian shows. There is a downstairs terrace with lots of seating and a good view. We didn't spend much time there but a larger group would have enjoyed that spot too. The yard is vertical and spacious, with terraces and seating at multiple levels. The plants and flowers are various and attractive. There is great security with an imposing fence and electronic gate. You can't see any neighbors from the balcony. You can watch bikers and walkers challenging the hills. There is an occasional loud motorbike. We're in our 60's, so the slopes and steps were a bit of a challenge with our bags. Someone younger would likely have no issues. If you want spectacular views and a quiet, relaxing haven, this is perfect. We mentioned to each other a few times that we couldn't believe how beautiful it was. Just be aware that it takes 25 minutes to get to town and it was sometimes a challenge getting taxis. We contracted the private car service recommended by our host and after that life was good- although pricey. This was a once in a lifetime trip for us and our stay at this villa in Cernobbio was a highlight."
