"A new favorite. Lovely property! Lots of trees and a quiet area to walk and meditate. Pleasant family environment. Bed was very comfortable. Our double shower was a real treat, with the nice big bathroom. Close proximity to the village for dining and shopping. Library and community area across the street. Knowledgeable, well-informed host(s) had lots of information about the area and its offerings. Good selection of teas and soft drinks readily available, as well as tasty, well-balanced breakfasts. Enjoyed our stay with George and Sandra. Will hopefully visit again!"

"Charming historic hotel and inn in beautiful Hudson River Valley! Rooms are comfy, The Tavern where George Washington was known to frequent is awesome! Staff were absolutely fantastic and Nansi at the Front Desk, went out of her way to accommodate us when an emergency happened. Great place to explore! "

"My husband and I, along with my adult son, his wife, and our two grandkids spent five days at this property over spring break. It is a beautiful home and the pictures accurately show the quality of the place. It turned quite cold while we were there so we spent considerable time inside with the grandkids while my son and his wife house-hunted. It is quite spacious and gave us plenty of room to enjoy each other but have our own space too. The glass along the back gives a beautiful view of the tranquil Buddha garden and the natural landscape beyond. I loved having my coffee in the big room each morning looking out while enjoying our family. Another perk if you are the couple enjoying the master bedroom—there is a TemperPedic Adaptable Foam mattress with an adjustable base. If you know about these amazing mattresses, you know that this provides some amazing rest! I would also like to say is that the owner’s art and book collection are a source of enjoyment. I would have liked to spend a month just reading every book! The only negative I will say—and this is because of our situation and not the home—is that it isn’t ideal for a 2 year old. There are so many intriguing artistic items that little hands want to explore. I wound up moving things higher so that he could not break them. I hope I got everything put back in its proper place. I would also recommend the community of Rhinebeck with its many shops and restaurants. I give it all 5+ stars."

"Beautiful, spacious, historic renovated schoolhouse, well appointed furnishings. Giant great room off the back and out to an expansive green which is NOT fenced enough to let your pet run loose, which they say in write up (our dog loved the great room to play in). A few things: If the weather is inclement, the firewood on the property along the fence will be wet. We arrived in rain and had sun the next two days but wood was wet, and could not locate any bagged firewood in Rhinebeck, so could not use the firepit, recommend you bring a bag in case. Note that it is in an off-the-beaten path location, wooded property, with a 7-minute drive into to town, which was easy-peasy; but it is an hour walk by foot. Another reviewer mentioned the lack of shades throughout (except for bedrooms and bathrooms). It gives an airy feel in the day, not so much at night. I would recommend to the owners that they put roll down shades in the TV room area and front vestibule. The place is fully stocked with household/kitchen items. Board games. Great water pressure in the bathrooms. Firepit area was nice, but again, bring a bag of wood if you want to do a fire, just in case. Beds very comfortable. Owners were very communicative. All in all, we had a great time with our fur-baby. A last note on Rhinebeck: We have been coming up here for 20 years. The town is dog friendly. However, the Mayor recently put into effect garbage rules. Every can in town said, no dog waste. You have to take it with you."
