"We loved spending a few days in Ortigia at the Algila' Charme Hotel. We had a room overlooking the ocean and the busy street outside the hotel entrance. AC was cranking, and the room stayed cool despite how hot it was. The staff were friendly and helpful. A simple breakfast buffet is available daily. They'll even make omelettes for those of us who prefer some protein in our breakfast. The location of the hotel is ideal—walking distance to everything on Ortigia—and the valet parking option is appreciated (since parking is very limited and driving is a hair-raising experience)."

"The rooms are really nice, smaller than pictures, but nice. View was ok, small porthole in a Concrete wall. Pool was great, breakfast was amazing. Staff are very friendly and attentive. We had a car so it was 7 minute drive to parking outside Ortigia every evening plus we did day trips to Noto, Catania, Marzemeni, Brucoli. Parking was easy and convenient. Great value for the price. I would stay again. We rented a self captained boat as well, coast is beautiful, and we ate every night in Ortigia. We split our time between Syracusa-Ortigia and Taormina."

"Very good value for the price. Reasonably good proximity to Ortigia (a pleasant 20-minute walk). The owner, Gaetano, was very congenial and helpful. His lunch recommendation at a very close Maccellaria was superb - one of the best meals we have had in our many days in Sicily. Amenities were good - air con was effective, multiple plugs for electronics, shower was sufficiently strong and hot. Breakfast was a fresh and large cornetto either savory or sweet and copious excellent coffee. Be aware that the owner and his mother, both of whom speak excellent English live on the same floor as the guests. We would stay there again."
