Had a short but wonderful stay here. Super efficient as I had missed a plane connection. Very welcoming and really safe for a single female traveller. Brilliant location so close to green point park the water front etc. Highly recommended would stay here again loved it.

Excellent stay. Room was clean and comfortable, hosts were friendly and happy to help with any queries. Good breakfast, quiet area. No load shedding impact as they have a generator/ solar power.

Altona Guest House is an amazing place to stay it is like being one of the family going to stay, we felt so at home. Nothing was to much trouble, they even did our large load of washing for us for a small fee

Amazing Guesthouse
This place is absolutely fabulous, if they have availability you need to stay here. It's a large family home converted into a guesthouse, the owners are so nice and the breakfast is delicious. Great location, hot water, fast wifi. I loved it here.

My six day stay at this property was incredible. I was very happy with every last detail in regard to my experience. The owner Peter and the manager Wendy became like friends and they went overboard to make me feel welcome and to help me out as much as they could. The breakfasts beyond words and Moffat the cook was so much fun to chat with. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the location is great if you enjoy walking. I was able to the walk along the ocean, to the shopping area, the stadium and the downtown area. I am planning to return with my wife and spend a month at this property next winter.

Quality guesthouse in a great area
The guesthouse is well-run, clean, and comfortable, with excellent and friendly hosts. The guesthouse is also well-located in Green Point - safe, close to the V&A Waterfront, and a short Uber ride from most major tourist attractions in Cape Town.

This place is super super NEAT and CLEAN. The location is so safe and it's easy to walk to Water Front which is the tourist center. And also nearby to the restaurant. You can pick the food what you want to eat. You don't regret to stay in ALTONA GUEST HOUSE. I will be staying again in this place when I visit Cape Town again. The owner Peter, he is super nice. And also Wendy, she is nice and very helpful.

Could not fault it
I booked and paid for a room with shared facilities, and I was given an ensuite, and a fridge in my room. I arrived early and was allowed to check in to this cosy and welcoming guest house. Nothing was too much trouble for anybody who worked there. The kitchen area was fantastic, with everything available to use by everyone, with free tea and coffee. The location was so perfect, with it being a short walk to the bus stop, a supermarket, a doctor and the V& A waterfront area. There was a fantastic breakfast available for just 80R. On my day for checking out, I didn't even have to ask if they could hold on to my bag for the day, and if there was a shower for me to use before flying back home...it was offered to me.

Altona Guest House was great. It was very clean and comfortable, the location was perfect for walking around Cape Town. We had the double room with en-suite shower which was a good size. The room is directly off reception so was a little noisy when people were coming in and out but it was fine most of the time.

Simple, clean, convenient
A clean and quiet spot, close to the Waterfront. The room we had was clean and a good size, with a nice ensuite shower room. Parking was an issue - we had to park a couple of streets away which was a bit of a nuisance, but we were there at peak time (Christmas) so it may be better at other times. There was no view out of the window (next door's wall and aircon unit), and the carpets were a bit "tired", but the owner was very nice and helpful, and overall very good value for money.

Peter, the owner was AMAZINGLY sweet! He was so accommodating and had my room all set up early and allowed me to check in early. He was funny and warm. The place is located close to the waterfront. My room was clean, smelled good and I had absolutely NO issues during my 2-night stay. The area is quiet and you will be anywhere you need to be within 10-15 minutes max. Trust me, I felt safe during my entire stay.

Positives.. Such a fantastic place to stay whilst in Cape Town. The management and staff made you feel so welcome that it felt like "home from home". Great location to explore all the beauty and heritage this vibrant city has to offer. Peter the owner, Wendy ( manager ) and Moffat ( who makes such a great breakfast ) couldn't do enough to help you and at the end of our stay here it felt like we were leaving friends behind. I cant recommend Altona Lodge highly enough. Negatives... Absolutely none

Fantastic stay at Altona
Has a fantastic stay at Altona, a wonderful guesthouse with a family feel. The room was comfortable, clean and contained everything we required. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean and suitable for the number of guests. Altona offers breakfast (for a cost) and complimentary coffee/ tea making services which was a welcome addition to our stay. Really enjoyed our time and would highly recommend.

We stayed for a week and highly recommend Altona Lodge. It's like a home away from home. Very comfortable. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us in every regard and offered advice on transport, directions, sightseeing. Lodge is very close to public transport (MyCiTi) and grocery stores and restaurants. Waterfront is nearby as well. Rooms and facilities are very clean and well kept. Good WiFi. Amazing value if you are on a budget. You won't be disappointed.

The Altona Lodge was such a lovely experience. I stayed for ten days and wanted to stay for more but they were booked solid which is a testament to their level of service, care and concern for their guests. The breakfast in the morning was great. The rooms were cleaned every day and as a late riser in the morning they accommodated my schedule every day so that I could sleep in. I can't say enough about the staff and the quality of the rooms. The kitchen is very organized and everything is easy to find. Coffee and tea station is set up around the clock so I had many late night visits to the dining area for a cup of tea. Overall this is a five star experience at a reasonable price. I will return to Cape Town in a month and will be staying at the Altona Lodge.
