The West House Boutique Hotel

The West House Boutique Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Very nice room and facilities. Nice patio with hammock. Staff friendly and helpful. Coffee shop does not open until 8 or later Several restaurants nearby, important to note, there are several restaurants on the street parallel to Burnes avenue - cut throught across from the Burnz resturant."

Table Rock Jungle Lodge

Table Rock Jungle Lodge

8/10 Good
"Like many eco lodges in the area, rooms are basically screened-in porchs with adjustable shutters - perfect for the setting, but very exposed. So, I get up at 2:30am for a routine bathroom visit, and let me add the (surprisingly relevant) detail that it was the quick and quiet #1 variety. Just as I was back in bed turning off the light, someone in the dark just outside my window asked 'Are you alright?'. Startled, at first I assumed this was a conversation between 2 people coincidentally on the walk outside my room, and I did not respond. However, the person who identified as a security guard seemed to really want to start a conversation with me, and kept asking until I responded. If I was not fully awake before, I sure was now and hours after,"

Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge

Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"Our stay at Sleeping Giant was perfect! The grounds and location are beautiful. The staff are lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed 2 different excursions provided by their concierge service. Josh was wonderful. We biked and swam in the crystal clear river. The restaurants were top notch and accommodated our vegan/celiac-free friend. We got to hear the Howler monkeys right outside our mountain view room!"

Dream Valley Belize

Dream Valley Belize

8/10 Good
"Staff was great and verry accommodating. Food was not so good. One pool was a little dirty because they didn't have it circulating. The other pool was other other side of the property. The roads coming in were absolutely horrible. Very rocky and washed out"

Blancaneaux Lodge by Francis Ford Coppola

Blancaneaux Lodge by Francis Ford Coppola

10/10 Excellent
"We just returned from Blancaneaux, and we’re still thinking about the food, service, ambiance, and overall experience. It was absolutely outstanding, and I highly recommend staying here. A few things I especially loved: Everything was incredibly clean, with this beautiful indoor/outdoor feel. You are truly in the middle of the jungle, and it feels like it. They have an organic garden on site. Fresh, high-quality food is really important to me, and this was a standout. You can have complimentary coffee brought to your room in the morning. It sounds like a small detail, but it makes such a difference. If you are a runner, you can run at the nearby airstrip, which is a huge bonus. A couple of tips: If you hike to Big Rock Falls, be prepared. It is a rigorous hike and can get very slippery, especially if it has rained. Bring plenty of water. If you swim in the river or around the falls, the rocks can be extremely slippery. We found it was much better not to try to stand up on them. Overall, Blancaneaux was one of those places that really lived up to the experience we were hoping for. Beautiful setting, wonderful people, and some of the freshest food we’ve ever had."

Properties here are often larger, offering more space and amenities, and are typically set back from the main road, providing a peaceful environment. You'll find a few local eateries and shops dotted along the highway. For families, this area is an excellent choice. Many accommodations here offer larger rooms or villas, often with swimming pools and spacious grounds for children to play. The larger, more secluded properties often provide a tranquil setting, superb for unwinding after a day of exploring.
When is the best time to go to Camalote?

The clear skies are also great for stargazing from your accommodation, offering a romantic touch to your trip.Families will find the dry season equally appealing as it allows for uninterrupted exploration of the surrounding jungle and its wildlife. Activities like cave tubing at St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park or visiting the Belize Zoo are much more enjoyable when the weather is consistently good.
