My husband and I stayed at Riverview Suite 1 for five nights in June. Excellent place for busy city dwellers to disconnect and reconnect with nature. It was our first stay at Sleeping Giant and second stay at a Belize Collection property. The main pool facility was nice for sunning in the warmest part of the day. Our priorities are privacy, modern designed rooms and property amenities, nature, rest, nice staff and modern cuisine that reflects the food identities of the place we visit. The private plunge pools and private outdoor shower and sun bed in suite were priorities. We rarely ran into other guests on trails or hikes which is a plus to enjoy nature in solitude. Good range of trail options for easy or challenging hikes. We liked the hike to the lookout point and rope bridges— the orchard walks are great for meandering. Loved the infinite ways to birdwatch. If you like birdwatching, neotropical flora and fauna, hikes, photography, and reading in the afternoon, this is the perfect retreat to recharge. Their massage therapists were the best I’ve encountered so far. We also did an excellent birdwatching session on the property.
Some tips to make it better: magnifying makeup mirror for guests who need mirrors to insert eye contacts, picnic or hiking snack and lunch packs with Sleeping Giant branded juice or water bottles for purchase, set aside some orange groves or create a perfume plant garden to make house perfume oil for room scent diffusers and so forth.
