I enjoyed my stay at the Marriott in Zamalek. It is a beautiful property. I was initially given a room with a balcony that I couldn't use due to renovations, however asked the front desk and changed to a room with a balcony on the upper floors facing Cairo Tower, with some view of the Nile from the balcony. The room was clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The hotel offers several dining options. The cafe at the lobby is a quick and good choice for a simple meal. The food is however over priced at the hotel, as one might expect at a 5-star hotel. The area around the hotel is nice. The hotel staff are friendly.
Here are two things I didn't like:
- The hotel is frequented by sex-workers and single men who are buying their services.
- The concierge is usually empty, and the reception is always busy with slow turn around time.
