"Ive stayed at this hotel so was a return guest. I was shocked that after i had booked through expedia i was phoned by the hotel to say we had to pay extra to use the pool area. It would have been an extra £160 for use of the pool for one afternoon and a early swim the morning. The breakfast this morning was poor and the service very disappointing. We had to wait over 30 mins for our breakfast they ran out of juice bread fruit x butter and i and many other guest had to keep asking for things to be refilled. Rooms were nice just has before which is a positive. I will not be going again as it is not worth the money x if you are going for a spa day there are much nicer spas to go to! On a plus Buxton is a lovely place to visit"

"We love the old hall the building is very old and looks very tired in places the carpets need replacing the lift is antequated ,yet we will return .it has a homely feel ,had a wonderful breakfast .its reasonably priced .the building full of characture "

"The cooked breakfast was nice. Staff absolutely lovely except from one person in the main reception who booked us in (looked and sounded like they did not want to be there - could have been having a bad day). Clean, tidy rooms. Showers worked well. "

"Clean and compact, but if you're looking for a peaceful stay, then this accomodation isn't for you. It's on a busy road and the windows are single glazed so you can hear everything. Traffic and general town centre noise until midnight, then the lorries speeding down the road in early hours, street cleaning at 6am which is about when the traffic picks up again. The bed was also only a small double (not king-size) so we barely slept the 2 nights we were there. On the plus side, it's conveniently located in centre of town, the shower was good, toothbrush charger was a bonus, plugs and light switches by the bed, and enough tea and coffee to keep us going. There were also clear instructions from the owner so we were able to access the room without any issues."

"We had a fantastic stay, the host was super and informative. The room was large and bright with a huge compfy bed. We had an excellent nights sleep. Breakfast was mammoth and really tasty. It’s a short walk into town so really well located too. We will definitely be back! "

"Some points of action for the ownersMust spell out entry is at first floor level, living area and kitchen plus two bedrooms located lower floor - not ideal for elderly couple within our group Cinema projector and tv in lounge need to be able to work independently - at present both show same programmePool superb but pool plant very noisy to adjacent ground floor bedroom through the night, suggest better insulation On initial view looks clean but could do with a good deep clean - cobwebs covered in dust - under beds dusty needed a clean, great location would use again but maybe without great grand parents"
