"Very nice stay - everything was very good. The only things I would say could have improved our time was that it would have been very helpful for a member of staff to show us around the spa as it’s not always clear where to go. Also the service was slow at breakfast time. "

"We love the old hall the building is very old and looks very tired in places the carpets need replacing the lift is antequated ,yet we will return .it has a homely feel ,had a wonderful breakfast .its reasonably priced .the building full of characture "

"The cooked breakfast was nice. Staff absolutely lovely except from one person in the main reception who booked us in (looked and sounded like they did not want to be there - could have been having a bad day). Clean, tidy rooms. Showers worked well. "

"Clean and compact, but if you're looking for a peaceful stay, then this accomodation isn't for you. It's on a busy road and the windows are single glazed so you can hear everything. Traffic and general town centre noise until midnight, then the lorries speeding down the road in early hours, street cleaning at 6am which is about when the traffic picks up again. The bed was also only a small double (not king-size) so we barely slept the 2 nights we were there. On the plus side, it's conveniently located in centre of town, the shower was good, toothbrush charger was a bonus, plugs and light switches by the bed, and enough tea and coffee to keep us going. There were also clear instructions from the owner so we were able to access the room without any issues."

"Elegant building, excellent central location, peaceful surroundings, nice views, comfortable bed. One kitchen cupboard was so high that we couldn't reach any small glasses or the cafetiere - had to make do without - even using the steps provided (and we are of average height). Cleaners brought stained towel at changeover day, and left long hairs on our bed when they changed the bedding. But in spite of this we enjoyed our stay."

"Really good communication with Alex. The property was as stated in the description. We were a family of 7 adults so the living/eating space was a bit limited but we were out much of the time. A really quick walk into Buxton which is lovely"
