We had such a better quality, personal experience here at Hawthorn Farm compared to the impersonal chain corporate hotels we’ve stayed at. Paul and Sarah are great hosts and were very welcoming. The room we stayed in was cosy and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Paul was really knowledgeable about the local area pointing out places to eat and drink. I have a gluten allergy and Paul ensured that they catered for this with minimal fuss. The cooked breakfast was excellent! This is a lovely place to stay with friendly hosts who go the extra mile to ensure guests are happy. While it may have been a farm once it was on a busy road in the not so good part Buxton. It was a bit disconcerting that when we checked in we could see into the owner’s quarters and they were not very tidy, which while our room was clean, it gave an initial poor impression.
