"Overall the property was exactly as advertised. The cottage was clean and roomy enough for 3. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen area could use some better lighting. The back deck looked pretty new but there was no seating on it. One important thing to know is there are no restaurants in the area open on Monday night which is the one night we stayed! We had to drive 15-20 minutes into Newland to find food. The location was good for access to Linville Falls."

"Cute cabin and close to everything around Asheville. For a family of six, there wasn’t enough towels and we were having to wash towels everyday for the bathrooms and kitchen. My four kids loved going to see the animals everyday. That was their favorite part of the trip."

"The house was nicely secluded in a gated community. Having the bedrooms divided over three levels allow for privacy as well as family interaction for my husband and I with our adult child. The kitchen was well equipped and the location was in close to restaurants when we did not want to cook. Thank you for sharing your home."

"This is our 2nd trip to the mountain cabin, and it will not be our last. Everything is perfectly set for a relaxing, easy and comfortable stay. We absolutely love how private it is, and the views from each side of the house. Our favorite spot is the fantastic back porch overlooking the mountains. Patty is very responsive and helpful with anything we need. We've stayed in several different rentals around Asheville (and in other cities/states), and this is definitely our favorite."

"The cabin is cozy and comfortable, perfect for a couple. We really enjoyed the large jacuzzi in the bedroom. The cabin is very close to Hwy 64 which makes getting around easy but in exchange there is quite a bit of traffic noise. The traffic noise is the only thing that made me give the “location and neighborhood” 3 start. Also, the steps really need a handrail. The walkway from the steps to the front door are perfectly adequate but the steps are a little steep. A little bit of something to hang...

"We only had time for a short visit but we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cabin and how close it was to the places we wanted to see. We'd definitely stay again on our next visit to Asheville!"

"The house is roomy and cozy, it exudes the mountain charm that it is surrounded by in Black Mountain. Easy walk to Lake Tomahawk, and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy cofffee in the morning or a meal with the family. Comfy beds, plenty of space to put your belongings, and a wonderful kitchen. We have stayed several years in a row and will be back next year. We have been going to Black Mountain/Montreat for a week in late July for 25 years, this is our favorite house."
