Wonderful Winter Escape with Mountain views in Forest-like setting

  • The Stonehouse Cabin is nestled on 10 acres in a beautiful forest of Pine, Oak, and Cedar trees on the edge of the small town of Burney, California. The cabin-architectural style and the welcoming front porch disguise the luxurious interior of this home built in 2008. While it feels like you are in the forest, the location is very central and within walking distance of pools, parks, and shopping. It is ideal for families, fishing enthusiasts, couples, etc.

    The cabin features the latest in modern conveniences while maintaining a classic 'cabin' feel. From the beautiful stone fireplace, to the hardwood pine floors to the rustic wood railing, the decor and amenities make guests feel right at home. The downstairs area features the living room, kitchen, dining area, Master bedroom (king size bed), second bedroom (twin bed) and bathroom. The upstairs loft has two twin beds (which can be converted to a king) and a full bathroom. An additional guest room (queen bed) with 1/2 bathroom is located off of the 2-car garage and can sleep 2 more guests. The garage has been converted into a large "rec room" with tv, small fireplace, area rugs, lounge chairs, and even sleeping cots. Additionally, there is an inviting front porch where you can sit and take in the beautiful surroundings.

    Located in the heart of the Shasta-Cascade region, The Stonehouse Cabin is a great 'base camp' location for the many outdoor activities offered in the area. The town of Burney is located near the recreational areas of Lassen Volcanic National Park, Mt. Shasta, and Macarthur Burney Falls Memorial State Park. The cabin is only 15 minutes from Burney Falls!

    Possible recreational activities include fly fishing, boating, bait fishing, kayaking, water skiing hiking, biking, golfing, cross country and downhill skiing and snowmobiling, in addition to spectacular site-seeing in the surrounding areas.

    The Stonehouse cabin is perfect for families with small children, couples vacations, fishermen groups, and adults just wanting a retreat in a beautiful mountain setting.

    The center of town is just a short walk away. Burney offers convenient shopping, restaurants, and even a movie theatre. Just steps away from the Stonehouse Cabin is the Burney Community pool, a neighborhood park and the high school play field.

    So come enjoy the beautiful, serene nature setting of the Stonehouse Cabin. You will truly have a vacation to remember!

Charming Cabin

Lovely cabin in Burney, feels like you are alone in the woods but you are super conveniently located to everything you need! Primary bed was extremely comfortable, comfy furniture, equipped kitchen.

Great location! It’s very close to Burney Falls, restaurants, Safeway, etc. The cabin is clean and comfortable. It has everything we need. The instructions from owner are very clear and easy to follow. We didn’t even need to contact the owner for anything. No issues during our stay.

Idyllic Cabin

Great location and wonderfully well appointed cabin. Feels very remote yet within close proximity to grocery store and food. Great jumping off spot for all there is to see in the area. Would definitely return here.

Lovely cabin

My family and I stayed here over the President's Day holiday to visit Burney Falls and the Shasta area. The cabin was well stocked and homey, and it was VERY close to Safeway and Grocery Outlet which allowed us to pick up supplies as needed. I loved how it was in the middle of the woods but also very close to the town itself. The listing said 4 bedrooms, which is accurate, one of them was in a separate guest house, we either missed that or it wasn't shown prominently. One recommendation we had was to add a laundry machine. Overall though, great cabin. We had a lot of fun!

Charming cottage

It was our first time to use Vrbo and the place we stayed at did not disappoint. The house was at the end of a dirt road which was lined by trees. The place was very clean and welcoming. A family 7 easily fit in the house. The amenities were good and being away from the hustle and bustle of the city was good. The place certainly very calming to the soul. The host was great to work with and understanding. I would come back to this place.

Lassen visit

Overall we were pleased with the property. We stayed for four nights in Burney which made for a good jumping off point to visit Burney Falls, Lassen SNP, and some fishing in Hat Creek. The property is private, sitting in the woods,but really close to everything in town like stores and restaurants. The property is comprised of the main house and a room off the garage. The main house is very nicely appointed. Beds were comfortable and the showers were nice. The space is small but really well done. While we wanted to use the room off the garage, it was hot during our visit and that room doesn’t have AC. Plus there seemed to be more bugs in there (spiders) than the main house, do we ended up not using it. It would be nice if that room could be brought up to the level of the main house; that would have made this property a complete win.

Great rental

The cabin is in a lovely forested setting close to town, but still very quiet and private. Easy access to Burney, McCloud Falls and Lassen NP. This is our second visit here and we’d love to come back!!

A Lovely Spot in the Woods

This cabin was a cozy little spot to spend time in and a great spot for the kids to wander. We saw a mule deer from the porch one night and a woodpecker another day, as well as a number of butterflies.

A wonderful property that is secluded yet close to all the amenities that Burney has to offer. If you are looking for a chance to unplug and experience a part of California you wouldn't know exists, this is the place to do it.

Wonderful stay between Lassen National Park and Mt. Shasta

Such a beautiful cabin! All the amenities were perfect; beds were so comfortable; kitchen was stocked. Great location nearby gas and grocery stores. And can’t forget Burney Falls...such a perfect place to hike around! If your kids are looking for some good snow sledding places, check out Eskimo Hill near Lassen. Can’t wait to come back!

Burney Cabin

This is the 3rd years our group has stayed at this wonderful cabin. It's the best location possible. You are walking distance to town and stores but completely surround by forest. It's hard to believe this cabin is in town and minutes from wonderful fishing.

Loved this upscale cottage with its own woods

We were very pleased with this newly built upscale cottage, surrounded with its own forest-acreage. All amenities were great and we especially appreciated the AC in the heat of August in Burney, CA. We used the home as a hub for nearby activities in Lassen, Burney Falls, and Hat Creek, and we always felt so good returning in the afternoon. I can't say more nice things about the cottage, it's updated and comfortable living areas, nice patio and grassy area, and the peace and quiet. The town itself needs some sprucing up as its lacking restaurants and such. COVID19 hasn't helped, of course. Hopefully the town chamber of commerce and cit council can address this so more outdoors enthusiasts will come and enjoy all the beautiful nearby sights.

Lovely cabin

We had such a great mini vacation at this cabin. Everything was wonderful from the time we arrived until the end! The only advice I would have is to upgrade the cookware. Pots and pans are old and cheap. As I like to cook on vacation I would have appreciated quality cookware. Would definitely return as well as recommend this rental!
