Welcome to the Sanderling Cottage! This completely remodeled 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cozy cottage (sleeps 6) is dog-friendly, and located just a short 10-minute walk from the Village and Pier Area on St. Simons Island. This newly renovated vacation rental features a well-equipped kitchen that opens to a spacious living/dining area which overlooks the beautiful backyard.

Any group gatherings and events at this property are limited to the number of occupants (6 persons). Events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, etc. are not permitted.

There is a separate living room, primary bedroom with king bed, guest bedroom with two twin beds, and third bedroom with a queen Murphy bed that easily be converted to an office or lounging area. The large privacy fenced back yard is a perfect place for relaxing, letting the kids play games, or for the family dog to run around! Situated in a quiet locals neighborhood, it has easy access to the many bicycle and walking paths that St Simons Island has to offer. Giving guests the feeling of being away from it all, but within 5 minutes of everything!

Immaculate and updated cottage by the pier
This was the perfect getaway for me and my 2 dogs while our house was getting reconstructed from a flood. The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. I will be back.

Excellent - except….
Internet and cable issues as mentioned by several others. Maybe this is a SSI issue rather than a property specific issue since we stayed on SSI earlier in the year and had the same problem with another property (not associated with Lilmar). Very clean, nice neighborhood, comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen, and prompt communication with Lilmar (they did their best to resolve the issue). I think this will be our last visit to SSI - but don’t let this stop you if communication with the outside world is not a priority for you!

Cute and CLEAN bungalow, perfect for a week getaway!
We stayed for a week in June at the Sanderling Cottage and we love this place! First off, it is the cleanest rental we’ve ever stayed in…not even dust bunnies on the wicker furniture! We had 2 kids, 2 parents, and 1 grandparent, and this cottage was the perfect size for us all to have separate spaces but be cozy together during gathering times. Perfect backyard for our very large dog…actual grass in the backyard and very sturdy fence. The owners have truly thought of everything and anticipated every need. The location is central to all the things we were there for…7 minute drive to East Beach, 3 minutes to the village, and far enough away to be quiet and private. We will 100% book to stay here the next time we come to SSI!

Not recommending this property even though it is a well stocked house.
Have to say I didn’t know we were right in the front yard of the airport. Crazy noise along with the construction across the street. I had a dog and this really should have been stated by the property manager. It was freezing this week we were here and the heat couldn’t keep up with cold. Half the windows in the house had the cold and moisture coming right though! Soaking wet windows and crazy cold! No cable ; just a lot of free channels offering nothing… the combo lock at the back door only worked twice during our stay which really had me wondering if someone else had access while we were there. The dishwasher only worked in one specific mode and it took 3 times to figure that out! Some instructions on the dishwasher, and Murphy bed would have been appreciated. The amount of money we were charged for off season- and then freezing on top of it- was totally ridiculous considering the issues. I do not recommend this property.

Wonderful Property (BUT)
The property was absolutely wonderful in every regard except one. We had a big problem with the internet service, which also sometimes affected the television service. We contacted the property manager who was very nice and promptly brought a "mobile hot spot", which gave us a second internet option, but that too failed from time to time. In previous comments on this site and otherwise it seems that the problem with the internet service has been known. Again the property was otherwise perfect as to cleanliness, location, neighborhood and as equipped. However if I was to stay in St. Simons again I would want some assurance beforehand that the internet service had been corrected. If I were a professional on vacation or just a person that uses the internet a lot, I would not be satisfied with the current internet service.

Perfect Weekend
The house was so clean which is the most important thing to me. There is a fantastic detailed notebook with all the information you will need for your stay in St. Simons. Beds were SO COMFORTABLE! Sheets were fabulous. We absolutely loved the pickle ball paddles and found the courts which were walking distance from the house. I loved all the windows, the yard, the games! It was a great weekend away.

Lovely home
We enjoyed this home. Was on a very quiet street but close enough to beaches and town. House was well appointed and very clean. Beds were very comfortable and pillows were too. Two things would have made our stay better: TVs in the bedrooms and a pool. All posted in the listing so I was aware ahead of time. We travel with one of our dogs do it’s challenging to find a comfortable place to stay that’s clean. This house didn’t disappoint. The host was very receptive to communication ahead of our stay and we honestly didn’t need them during our stay. We would definitely stay here again
