This home offers classic charm in an urban setting. Perfect for a large group, Habersham House consists of three separate apartments comprising the entire building. These apartments were professionally decorated with premium guest comfort in mind. The three apartments offer a combined 7 bedrooms, 4 full baths, and 2 half-baths and can sleep up to 14 people. Each apartment is tastefully appointed, and each has it's own living, dining, and kitchen spaces. Habersham 1: This unit features 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. On the upper floor, there is a spacious living room with plenty of comfortable seating and a large HDTV over the beautiful fireplace mantle, the dining room with a table that seats 6, a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances. There is a half bath just off the dining room. The lower floor is situated on the ground level and has direct access to parking. This level is the sleeping floor and features a bedroom with a King size bed and HDTV; the second bedroom has a Queen bed and TV. (There is a Queen size inflatable mattress for an additional sleeping option.) The bathroom, located just off the hall, has been completely renovated with all new fixtures, new tile, and subway tiled walk-in shower. The ground level features original brick walls and is cool and shady in the summer, cozy in the winter! The main entrance is located on the second floor, and there is a second entrance on the ground level. Habersham 2: Features 2 bedrooms and 1 and a half baths. This historic, 2 Story apartment has a unique spiral staircase that connects the interior spaces. On the upper floor, there is a spacious living room with plenty of comfortable seating and a 55" Smart HDTV. The kitchen is equipped with an apartment-sized refrigerator and freezer (no ice maker in the freezer), a stove and oven, a microwave oven, and a dishwasher. There is a combination coffee machine, so coffee lovers will enjoy having the choice of regular drip coffee or Keurig single cup coffee. The ground level has direct access to the parking area from the Queen room, which is extra convenient for when for loading and unloading luggage. This level hosts both of the bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and TV; the second bedroom has a Queen bed with a TV. The shared hall bathroom has a tub and shower combination. Guests will feel the rich history on this level, which features original brick walls, which also helps to keep the rooms cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. A utility closet with a stacked washer and dryer is also located on this level off of the King bedroom. Habersham 3: This larger apartment features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. It is located on the third and fourth floors of the home. On the main floor, there is a combined living room/kitchen/dining room with a Queen sleeper sofa, dining area with pub table plus 4 bar stools at the breakfast bar, fully equipped kitchen, HDTV, and Blu-ray player in the living room. There is a Queen bedroom off the living room, a full bath with shower/tub in the hall, and a large primary bedroom with a king-size bed, seating area in front of the fireplace, and large HDTV, and the attached primary bathroom has double vanities and shower/tub combo. Also on this level is a large covered balcony furnished to comfortably seat 10 people. The top floor of the home is the spacious finished attic - complete with interesting ceiling angles and dormers. The bedroom offers a seating area with a double sleeper sofa, HDTV, a King size bed, and a half bathroom (sink/toilet). About the Paul Hamilton Williams House: The Paul Hamilton Williams House, built in 1791, is conveniently located just off the corner of Habersham and Bay Street. It is just a short walk from Historic River Street, Emmet Park, Warren Square, Factor's Walk, and many other points of interest in the historic district. Located right beside the popular bistro B. Matthews Eatery at the corner of Bay Street and Habersham on the Eastern end of the historic district. B. Matthew's serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. The house is in a great central location from which to explore the world-famous Historic District of Savannah, and many local attractions, pubs, and restaurants are just a short walk away. Every First Friday of the month, stroll down to River Street for Fireworks and enjoy live music, the arts, and other events. There is always plenty of food, fun, and culture in Savannah! The property has wonderful historical and cool places to visit all within walking distance. The property is in a safe area, very enjoyable.We had a large group with kids, the property is made up of 3 apartments, so we had multiple sitting areas, kitchens and the bedrooms were group so people could have some isolation from the main group. Very helpful since one was 15months old.Our family enjoyed the historic building and loved the area we were in.Definitely will stay here again ##### James D. There was so much space for 9 of us. The location was prime and in the center of everything so we could walk to all the restaurants, bars, and shopping. A gathering of family & friends in Savannah for my 60th birthday. Amazing Colonial home 1 block from the river front, and within walking distance to most anything else you want to do there. Bonus was being right on the St Patty’s Day Parade route. Within an hour to lots of great golf courses and 20 minutes from the airport. The house has plenty of room to gather, comfortable bedrooms and well appointed kitchens. Would definitely stay again! ##### Matt L. We used the whole house, but decided that the third floor living room was the best place to gather. It’s large, well-lit, and has the kitchen right there. Each apartment’s kitchen is well kitted out with everything you might need (except food). The paper and soap supplies were more than enough for us during our short stay. If you’re staying longer, you might want to bring extra. The area is on the edge of downtown. There are two parks nearby. The north side leads to the river and River Street. One of our group had friends staying in Savannah, and they were able to walk around the Historic District easily. It’s good to have a car for midtown and areas outside Savannah proper. The four off-street parking places are extremely useful. The stairs: The description of Apartments 1 and 2 says: “The ground level has direct access to the parking area…” There are doors from these apartments to the parking area, but you have to go inside from the 2nd floor and go downstairs to get to those doors to open them. There are many stairs. One family member counted 22 steps from the 3rd floor down to the parking area. So be aware that this house is a little difficult for those who don’t like stairs. If you’re in apartment 1 there’s a staircase up to the LR/DR on floor 2\. If you’re in apartment 2, there’s a spiral staircase. The second floor has the communal hallway and the grand staircase that leads to the 3rd floor. Other Caveats: • Some of the lamps are dim. • The ground floor bedrooms have lower ceilings than the rest of the house. However, they have a charm of their own with old brick walls. • There are a lot of businesses near the house. There can be street noise at night. • Bring all the food and condiments you think you’ll need. This is a clean house; there’s nothing left from the people who were there before you. • Bring your own toiletries. There’s bar soap in the bathrooms (as well as a couple of rolls of TP), but that’s it. I would love to rent Habersham House again. The tall ceilings and well-appointed rooms made our stay very pleasant. We all enjoyed being here. ##### Stephanie L. We were perfectly comfortable! There was plenty of space to spread out, the layout is perfect for a group trip, and you can’t get a much better location. We rented 2 units of Habersham House for a Bachelorette Party, and it was a huge success. Habersham was an easy walk to River St and a longer hike or short uber/lyft ride away from Forsyth Park or anything in deeper Savannah you may want to see. The house was clean and comfortable for our group of 11\. We were split between the upstairs and downstairs apartments, but it was easy to walk between so we could all mingle together. ##### Kacy G. The house and location were perfect. We had just the right amount of space/accommodation for 8 people. Rooms were all clean, well-decorated and spacious-- much larger than I anticipated based on the pictures. While at the house we spent most of our time on the back porches (or sleeping) - but most of the weekend we were out exploring Savannah. The house is right downtown, but in a very quiet little nook. I also love the historical details of the building, and it seems like many of them have been preserved. I believe it's one of the older houses still remaining from 1700s. A lot of the more famous homes in Savannah were built in the early-mid 1800s. There is some literature in Unit 3 that goes over some of the history. One evening as we were coming home there was actually a tour guide pointing out some of the features of the house to a group of about 20 people, so that was neat. My only complaint/comment is there seemed to be something going on with the plumbing which caused the house to smell pretty bad during the day. We're pretty sure the smell was coming from the drains in the sinks. It was mostly gone by nighttime, but would show up again the next day. Since we weren't indoors for the most part during the day it wasn't that big of a deal, but I could see how it would turn some people off. Great property and location. We rented both units and it worked out great. Only negative is that the AC gets turned up to 80 between guests.
