"After booking and before our stay the hotel were extremely helpful with requests with lightning fast responses on email. A very friendly & warm welcome both at the gatehouse and in reception on arrival! It made the experience special right from the beginning, the Porter (Shaun) went above and beyond to show us around the hotel & its facilities! Our room with hot tub amazing view didn’t disappoint either! The asian Restaurant Mizumi is and definitely worth a visit too, great food and service! The perfect finish to our stay was being chauffeured into town by Lesley in their brand new Bentley flying spur. Can’t recommend this place highly enough! "

"We stayed for 2 nights in suite for our wedding anniversary. Little extras like chocolates and a card congratulationing us was a lovely touch. Could not fault the staff and would definitely recommend and return"

"Really enjoyed this weekend away. We had a family room which had 2 singles and a double, it was a very large room with gorgeous high ceiling and window overlooking the road quiet location. The staff were all lovely and very welcoming. Enjoyed having access to the pool which the kids loved. Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi all hot which is sometimes missing in some venues. Breakfast was buffet and no complaints. I would say my only gripe was the kids menu in the restaurants, its £15 for 2 courses which for us is expensive when you have multiple children and out of touch to other restaurants. Our children shared a meal as we new they wouldnt of finished 1 each, it just felt a rip off to be honest when they had such reasonable offers on the adult menu. We had the 4 tapas deal which felt really good value so it was shame the kids meal deal was so much. We would still stay here again "

"Beautiful Hotel, staff couldn't have been friendlier, lovely room and the breakfast was perfect for setting us up for a gorgeous walk, restaurant was immaculate too, if I had to be ultra picky I would say I was a little disappointed the spa bath wasn't working but didn't even seem worth mentioning really, there are cheaper hotels in Ambleside, but as we all know, you get what you pay for in life, would absolutely recommend to anyone."

"Hotel has a bit of character .Yes it's a bit dated but the rooms are clean and tidy.Breakfast is nice but seems a slow process so expected a bit of a wait. "
