"Everything about our stay at the Douglas was beyond our expectation. Friendly staff who went the extra mile to insure we were well taken care of during our time on the isle of Arran. Food was excellent. Our entire party of 9 (five rooms) all want to return again in the future. "
"Excellent Guest House - experience made even better with the very helpful manager - Allan who goes absolutely out of his way to welcome you and make you feel at home. Allan is a greta source of knowledge re the area and things to do / places to eat etc. Great Breakfast as well - would highly recomend this as a place to stay "

5/5 Excellent
"Fantastic location on the beach, with a great view over to Arran. Great dinner in the Orangery restaurant and an excellent full Scottish breakfast. Room was very comfortable with an excellent shower. Great service throughout. We didn't use the spa facility, but the pool area looked really good."

"It was ok —- a place to sleep. But a little dissapointing …. The write-up by Hotels.com , and the price of the rooms suggested/promissed something better—— for us , it was a basic hotel, with basic facilities—- pub-bar type “restaurant”, -crowded and noisy and cramped—dood was pub-grub really — nothing special —- room basic with low budget furnishings , bathroom the same— almost travelLodge or premier inn quality—- a place to speel - but not worth what they charge "

"Great place.
Friendly staff, with special mention to reception who had to deal with an inconsiderate guest.
Food was great too.
Loved the decor of the whole hotel. Well done to all "
