Breakfast is not included. Coupon given for partial payment. Posted that restaurant opens at 7. Not true on weekends. Pool chemicals are very harsh and evening staff is just as abrasive. Lady in the morning was fantastic. Server in restaurant was awesome. Bread is the best of ever had.

The lodge was very clean, the view is incredible. We were there early in the spring so the restaurant was not open. We had adjoining rooms with our family and shared a kitchenette which was wonderfully stocked. Brier Island is very nice to visit and a cozy place to explore. Had a wonderful time.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very nice! Close to shops and restaurants.

This was my third stay here and is absolutely my favourite place to stay when visiting Halifax. The location cannot be beat; walkable to all major downtown attractions and tons of dining and live music. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have a luxurious feel. I’ve always stayed in a citadel view room but the other views would face the city and would be lovely as well. Beds and pillows are comfortable; bathroom is spacious with a separate toilet room. Comfy towels and bathrobes and, yay, the Occitane toiletries are back! There are two fridges - one with items to purchase and one that is empty and useful to keep your own food and beverages chilled.

Booking through Expedia said “River view”; however given a room “On the River”. Best to call the lodge to book in order to be clear on the room you want. A little extra cleaning can go a long way in the pool and cabins, but they just opened the week we went so I feel it probably will improve throughout the year. The staff (especially Sharon at the front desk), dinner menu and things to do in the area made it a 5/5.
