"Room was ok, there was a smoke stain above the fireplace, water stains on the ceiling and a brown water stain in the hot tub. It was enjoyable though you can feed the deer and play some games with your lover dinner Saturday night was delicious but not so much Sunday night! We didn’t use the pool but looked nice. We had fun on the hiking trail even though it’s was a little muddy and wet as the snow had just melted. Trivia games at spooners were fun! All in all the place definitely has a distinctive feel and look, it was a nice little get away for us. "

"Room was average. Setting is more like an apartment than a hotel. It was clean and furnishings were updated. There is a physical key to your room door and also for front door late at night. Room includes a free drink and allowance for breakfast at adjacent venues. There is live music on weekend evenings. The best part is the scenery in the back area where there are waterfalls. However, in the winter months, it’s frozen and slippery. It was a stop over for us, so I probably won’t ever be back. "

"If I could, I would give this hotel zero stars. The check-in process took forever. Breakfast was practically nonexistent — people stood in a long line for omelets, and there wasn’t even enough for everyone. With only one waiter on the floor, getting coffee or a refill was nearly impossible. If a hotel advertises breakfast included, it’s reasonable to expect a decent meal. To make matters worse, a month later the hotel called demanding an extra $22 “hotel charge,” even though everything had already been prepaid online. Be aware of hidden charges if you stay at Anthracite Hotel."

"An excellent getaway location for ending February. Easy to travel to. Low traffic. Great location among the trees. Loved the sunrise view and listening to winter critters. Very spacious and calming facility. Enjoyed our room. It was comfortable for myself and my companion who is 6’ 2”. Loved the soft water showers. Bathroom had hair dryer and makeup mirror. Soft bed. We could access the deck from our room. Breakfast was excellent which included scones, roasted potatoes, fluffy egg scramble, biscuits and fruit. There is an excellent self serve coffee/tea bar. Juices and mimosas were also available. Breakfast was served in the enclosed porch that has a fireplace. Puzzles and games available set around to keep you occupied. You can feel the joy the hosts, Lisa and Dante want to share with the guests. Excellent dream in motion. "

"Daniela is a great host. Very communicative and responsive. The house is very nice and quite spacious. The hot tub wasn't working when we arrived, but a reset to the breaker fixed the issue. Projector in the main living room is ok, but I would've preferred a regular TV. Overall our stay at the house was great. The reason for only 4 stars was an issue with the gated community itself. I've never rented in a gated community before where they require your car registration. Not quite sure why they even need that in the first place. They also gave my Mother an issue because the paper they were supposed to print for her car was out of ink, so they wrote one instead, but they only made it good for one night, even though we were staying for 2 nights. So she had to go back to the gate to get a new paper the next day. Not something you want to do after a day of skiing. "
