"We stayed here as part of a team with 5 rooms and this was a major disappointment. At check-in, I was told there would be an additional charge of 5 dollars per child over 12 per day, on top of what I booked on hotels.com. I was charged this for the 2 17 year olds in our room "to better accommodate" them. When I asked what that meant, she repeated "to better accommodate them" over and over. When I pressed, she said "to better accommodate them at breakfast and in case of noise complaints". They didn’t even eat breakfast. I dont recall agreeing to this when booking, and the only “policy” was posted at the front desk, which you obviously can’t see ahead of time. Our coach questioned it and was not charged at all. I was not so lucky. I was told a manager would be contacted, but nothing was resolved. The smell is awful. It stinks. Smells like cat pee and heavy perfume throughout the room, hallways, and elevator. One person in our group had to switch rooms because the ammonia smell was so bad and was told they were "accidentally" put in a pet room. Maintenance issues too. TV remote didn’t work, phones didn’t work, and the explanation involved humidity and copper parts. Batteries were replaced, still didn’t work. Room was mostly clean-ish, beds tight, but corners were dirty and the toilet barely flushed. Lukewarm showers at best. If I wasn’t with a team, I would have left."

"Renovations were loud. AC made various loud noise, even when not actively cooling. And faucet in bathroom was so loose you had to hold the base with one hand and open it with the other."

"The bathroom lighting above the mirror is very dim and needs improvement. "

"The staff were all very helpful and friendly! We enjoyed sitting at the bar and playing cards. The room was quiet and the beds were very comfortable! Will definitely stay there again on our next Houston trip."

"It was okay had to leave a day earlier than we were supposed to because the people next to us kept banging on the wall and front desk staff didn’t do nothing so our family left a day early. No breakfast like website said. Probably won’t be back "

"Check in was fast and easy. There was trash in the trash can when we walked into the room. No big deal. Other than that it was clean. Seems outdated compared to some of the other Tru motels I have stayed at. "
