Stoney Creek Inn Galena

10/10 Excellent

"Great location near the downtown Galena area (4/5 minute drive). Had it not been so hot we would have walked (but we walk a lot normally so it’s probably not close enough for most people to do so) . Friendly staff, nice clean room, cute pool and hot tub. We wanted a more traditional breakfast so we drove into Galena (but they offered a nice selection of basic stuff). Free coffee and water 24/7! We would definitely go back! (And there is a Piggly Wiggly right behind the hotel!)"

"Clean. Quiet. Secluded location. Allows dogs for a fee. Staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaints are that they lock the front doors at night so you have to use the fire exit if you want to leave early in the morning or let your dog out to go to relieve themselves. No staff there before 7am. Also the bed was VERY HARD. My husband liked it but a bit hard for my liking. It's an older property but has been nicely renovated inside. We stayed in the regular hotel not the bio-healing side. There's a naturopathic "medical" side that they have. Can't comment on that. No major issues for us. Would stay again if needed."

"We were warmly greeted on our arrival. In fact the property send periodic text to see if they could assist with any details aske when we would arrive so they could help us to our rooms and provided a code for our room to say our room was ready for occupancy. Property was within walking distance to downtown. Love it!"

Grant Hills Motel

8/10 Good

"The room was pretty Musty smelling. I was stuffed up until I went outside. But otherwise the room was fine. We swam 3 different times and 2 of the times we were completely alone! One time a couple and there little kids were there about 15 minutes. We were in the back of the building so it's lower level. Nice fire pit and chairs outside your door. You can walk across the back lawn to the Distillery next door which was nice. Only complaint is that they need to get that Musty smell out of the rooms. But the room was clean and fresh bedding. We would stay here again."
