Bell Island Vacation Packages

This is a boutique hotel in an older building. There is a certain charm with the architecture and the high ceilings; however, with an older building there is poor sound-proofing (we heard every step the upstairs guests made). Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The room needed a deep clean as there were dust-bunnies under the chairs and in the corners. The hard surface floors are great but were not very clean when we arrived. There was grit and fingernail clippings that did not belong to us. We walked around in our socks to keep the room clean but that also revealed how dirty the floors were. The location is great; right beside Jelly Bean row and within walking distance of downtown. The parking was as advertised but there are only 7 or 8 spaces on the street for non-residents, happily we always found a place to park each day. The check-in process was non-contact. We were given lots of information prior to check-in and an info pack on arrival. There was a guest directory provided with some information on local attractions and restaurant suggestions.

Generally, a good stay and if we were in St. John's again we would seriously consider staying at Sandman. Unfortunately, neither the pool or the gym were available. I had to ask for a rubber mat for the shower and was told mats were only provided for customers with bath tubs, which we did not have. That is a terrible policy as the shower was very slippery. As well, there needs to be a review about allowing pets to stay in rooms. We had a very yappy little obnoxious dog right next door, but he, (and his owner) were both given another room. There was also a very large and vicious looking dog, fortunately muzzled) walking the halls with its owner. I hate to think what could happen if that dog was somehow allowed to escape. Very good that a Denny's and Moxie's were both on site. Front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming. Good parking accommodations.

Good location, just a bit off the (noisy) downtown. Parking right beside bldg. Simple breakfast included.

The staff was ready for guests as they arrived and available to help with any questions. The breakfast was excellent.

Just spent 2 nights at the Killick! It was fabulous. Extremely clean. Our hostess Darlene was very fast responding to questions. Very spacious! Loved our stay very much.
