The resort itself is beautiful, with a great atmosphere and plenty of space to relax. I really enjoyed having several different pools to choose from, and the beach was definitely one of the highlights of our stay—beautiful and very enjoyable.
That said, there were a few disappointing areas. The drinks were probably my biggest complaint. Most of the cocktails tasted very cheap, overly sweet, and processed. I ended up sticking with beer for most of the trip. Even though the beer sometimes tasted a little watered down, it was still the better option.
The food was okay—not amazing, but enough to get by. Out of the options we tried, the buffet at Casa Blanca was probably the best and most consistent.
Transportation around the resort could also be frustrating. The shuttle comes about every 25 minutes, which becomes a problem when there are shows or events. The buses get extremely crowded, and if you can’t get on, you’re stuck waiting another 25 minutes. After one of the shows, we ended up walking about 20 minutes back to our hotel rather than waiting for another shuttle.
Overall, the pools, beach, and resort grounds were beautiful and enjoyable, but the quality of the drinks, average food, and inconvenient shuttle system took away from the experience. If beautiful pools and beach access are your main priorities, you may enjoy staying here, but if good food, quality drinks, and convenience are important to you, I would definitely keep these things in mind before booking.
