Sunny , cozy 1-bedroom, wooded, private, central Island location, close to ocean

One bedroom with queen-sized bed, living room, one small bath with tub and shower. There is a small refrigerator & Keurig; no kitchen. Free wi-fi, but no television. A wi-fi "extender" has resolved the wi-fi problems some commenters have written about. There is a large couch which a toddler or a very young child would be comfortable sleeping on, but it is not a fold-out bed. This unit is above our garage with separate entrance via an outside staircase, please see pictures. If anyone has mobility issues, this is not the place for you! Includes access (up two steps) to a screened in balcony.

We are located in the Town Hill area. BH downtown is a 15-20 minute drive from here, using the charmingly and accurately named "Crooked Road." NE and SW Harbors and Ellsworth, are also each about a 15-minute drive away. It is an easy 10-minute walk to Maine Coast Heritage Trust's "Blue Horizons" Reserve to reach the ocean, and the Blagdon Nature Reserve is a 5-minute drive.

Absolutely lovely! This is a room on the second floor above the garage, with a side staircase. The hosts have thought about literally everything putting a lot of care and effort in making guests feel totally at home. All the instructions for temperature control are there on the table, there is a Keurig with plenty of coffee pods and a kettle. A canister with water sits on the shelf for ease of pouring. A refrigerator is present as well. All sorts of brochures and maps for exploring the area are on the coffee table, along with the hosts’ recommendations for where to eat and what to see. The bed was supercomfy with a warm and heavy blanket. A whole bookcase full of books and board games is along one wall. The hosts were easy to get in touch with right from the start. When I noticed that shampoo was missing, I texted them, and shampoo was brought up right to the door almost immediately. Wifi was superfast as well. Make sure to climb onto the screened-in balcony overlooking the lawn and the trees behind the house. I was there in late fall, so it was a tad too cold to enjoy, but nevertheless it was a charming setting to sip coffee or tea in. It had not been easy to find accommodation close to Acadia NP, I had looked almost everywhere and everything that was left was too expensive until I came across this secluded spot, off the side, but very close.

Barbara and David were wonderful hosts, and the space was spotless and very well stocked with essentials. We loved the location—tucked away in a quiet wooded setting, yet close to Acadia’s hikes and sights and just a short drive to Bar Harbor. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge after a day of hiking before heading into town for dinner.

There was very good communication from the time on booked to once i got to the property. There was a very detailed not at property with places to go and more. It was cool one night and a message was sent to see if my wife and i were cold. This place is nice for a couple. I would book this property again when in Bar Harbor

The loveliest little place to stay, you will feel like in your own private cabin in the woods. Hosts provided a lot of privacy and were ready to accommodate our every need. Every little detail in the place is thought through, so it felt like we were visiting a family and they were trying to do their best to make us feel welcomed. The property looks and feels even better than the pics suggest, honestly. Highly recommend!

This property was the perfect place for our short trip to Maine. An easy 20-minute drive to Bar Harbor and even closer to Acadia. The apartment is clean and comfortable, nicely decorated and the property itself is beautiful. The porch overlooking the backyard is a nice plus. Barbara is a lovely host.

Our stay was terrific, and Barbra was a great host. Even with some hiccups at the property, Barbara was very upfront and did a great job communicating throughout the stay. Whenever we make our way back up to the Bar Harbor area, we will be sure to stay here.

Bucket List Trip

This was a wonderful place to stay for my Bucket List Trip to Mount Desert Island. The location is just what I needed to relax and unwind. The hosts check in on me via text to ensure that I had everything needed. There spot in the forest was like a trip back to a time of wizards, fairies and knight.

Close to everything!

The pictures do not do this place justice. Very clean and on a gorgeous property. Close to everything you’d want to do on the island. We also tried a few of the restaurants recommended by our host and enjoyed them all!

Little apartment near Acadia

This was a neat little apartment in the woods and our stay was very comfortable! The bed slept well and the temperature control was simple and worked very well. Only thing we missed was a microwave. Otherwise very convenient! It was also within a short distance of Acadia National Park and made a very handy spot to return to each evening.

Peaceful Getaway Close to the Park!

Exceeded Expectations
