Yurt Glamping on the Quiet-side of Acadia National Park!
Our cozy Flying Mtn Yurt sleeps up to four guests and offers a unique blend of comfort and adventure. Yurts are circular, tent-like structures with a wood lattice frame and sturdy canvas exterior-an ancient design originating from the nomadic tribes of Asia. Today, modern yurts have become a popular vacation experience from coast to coast, offering a memorable alternative to traditional lodging.
Inside, you'll find a warm, inviting space thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials. The yurt features a comfortable queen bed and a queen-size sleeper sofa, making it ideal for couples, friends, or small families. The kitchenette is equipped with a ¾ refrigerator, apartment-size stove and oven, sink, and all necessary cookware and dishware for simple meal prep.
A full bathroom with a stand-up shower adds everyday comfort, while the efficient heat pump and air conditioning keep the space cozy year-round. All linens are provided for your convenience.
Whether you're exploring Acadia National Park, relaxing on Mount Desert Island, or simply looking to try something new, this yurt offers a peaceful and distinctive home base for your Maine adventure.

The whole place is beautiful and staying in the yurt is such a unique and fun experience it really combines comfort with still giving you the touch of nature in your lodging.
Comfortable, well equipped Yurt. Quiet location, close enough to hiking trails and other amenities on the island. We really liked being able to see and hear more of nature than we would from a hotel. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Really a perfect place to stay for us.
Aaron and Karen are the most gracious hosts! We had a wonderful time at Acadia yurts with our boys 10, 9, & 5. Great location and accommodations. Close to the national park, easy drives to hikes, beaches, food.
Our stay was fantastic!! The yurt was exactly as described - so spacious! It was the perfect amount of room to make some meals at home, have two beds, and even get up to some pumpkin carving! It was so close to southwest harbor and Acadia, but in a more private spot - location couldn’t be beat. The free firewood at the fire pit was so convenient - and we were the only folks there every night. Plus Karen and Aaron the owners are so nice. Can’t wait to go back!
Beautiful and thoughtful place to stay. I felt close to nature and my partner didn’t have to go without access to any comfort. Our visit in early May meant rain was likely, so we planned on and got to enjoy the wellness center which was excellent. We also brought our dog along thanks to one of the pet-friendly yurts!
My wife and I stayed at Acadia Yurts for 5 incredible days. The property is beautiful and well maintained, quiet and peaceful, perfect for a week of relaxing and decompressing. It's a short 20 minute drive to Bar Harbor and 30 minutes from Acadia National Park. Highly recommended!!
Flying Mountain yurt was a perfect get away. Well appointed, conveniently located and so comfy! This was our second time staying and we’ll definitely be back again. Karen and Aaron are great hosts and communicators. Thank you!
The property is peaceful and quiet. There are plenty of trees for shade and sunny spots as well. The yurt had everything we needed. The owners were very kind and helpful. Arcadia National Park is close by. The town has two lovely bakeries. We saw a wonderful murder-mystery at the Arcadia Theatre too. Saw plenty of wildlife including a flock of turkeys just up the road. Enjoyable stay in a lovely location
Above and beyond all our expectations. And so clean!!!! I could have stayed much longer. The kitchen had everything I could have wanted, a nice cutting board, nice sharp knives, even a really nice french press. It was a perfect location, very secluded and quiet. We will be making a trip here on an annual basis on how much we loved it! Aaron was a great, friendly host, always smiling!
The yurt was beautiful and well equipped with everything we needed. Loved the property and the accessibility to things like the pantry, garbage, laundry, etc. Didnt get to enjoy the firepit or the yoga classes but will definitely be coming back! Location was great as well and decent distance to Acadia and Bar Harbor
Best I could have imagined. Steps from the park to take a morning run. Acadia Yurts was so relaxing and park owners super attentive. Some noise from local business but otherwise felt like we were staying right in Acadia National Park.
We stayed in the Flying Mountain Yurt with our dog and it was great! We arrived in the evening and the check-in was easy - instructions were emailed a few days before. The Yurt was clean and had everything we needed. Karen was responsive and we felt taken care of the whole time. The location of the Yurt was convenient and an easy drive to the different parts of Acadia and Bar Harbor. The yurt had information about local shops and things to do, which was helpful also. Walking our dog was easy and the stay overall was very relaxing. 100% recommend!
My dogs and I had the best week at Acadia Yurts. It was comfortable, clean, warm, and I loved being able to see the starts through through skylight at night! We had everything we needed, and nature right outside the door. The shared pantry was a fantastic idea, and we also appreciated having access to laundry. Time to set up Acadia Yurts 2.0 for people who want to live there permanently!
This property gives you the experience of camping but with all the amenities of home. The yurt we stayed in had everything we needed including upgraded WiFi as cell reception throughout Acadia is spotty. The location is perfect for a quiet get away, yet just minutes away from park trails, a coffee shop, grocery store and local restaurants. Lastly the owners are extremely friendly and welcome sharing their knowledge of the area. We will definitely be back!
My husband, our 3 teenage kids (15, 16, and 16), and Pepper the pug rented out the two pet friendly yurts. These were perfect to have a nature feel but with amenities to suit a day of sweating from adventuring in Acadian National Park! The owners were so friendly and tentative and would text back whenever we reached out. It’s nice and secluded from all the madness of the harbor areas but still a quick drive to any and all area attractions. My kids enjoyed getting the complimentary coffee and supplemented with hot chocolate on the stove!
Our dog barks at chirping birds, which we were worried about, but each yurt had a peaceful sound machine so we just cranked that up a bit and she felt right at home!
20/10 recommend!!!
My husband, myself, our kids (10yo girl & 4yo boy), and our dog stayed in the flying mountain yurt for a week. The kids absolutely loved it, and so did my husband and I! The place was exactly how the pictures showed it in the listing. The yurt was very clean and had enough space for all of us! We cooked in the kitchenette multiple times while we were there and also used the outside barbecue. The kids loved exploring around the yurt grounds and also loved all the games in the red barn! Location of the yurts is great… We loved Southwest Harbor! Beautiful little downtown, which you are only about 10 minutes away from. The location was also great to explore in and around Acadia… which we did a lot of!!! The wellness center is absolutely beautiful! I was able to take a yin yoga class with Karen, which was wonderful! I wish I had more time to use more of the wellness amenities! Karen was a very responsive and accommodating host! We would definitely stay again if/when we come back to Acadia!
Awesome visit for our 1st annual family national park trip
We traveled to ME to visit Acadia National Park (about 20-30 min drive depending on where you are visiting in the park). Given we were traveling with our 18m old, we weren't brave enough to camp but glamping was the perfect hybrid and the Acadia Yurts & Wellness Center was the perfect getaway. There was plenty of room both inside and out for our 18m old son and our 2 mini schnauzers to explore on grounds and we loved the proximity to the park without being in the heart of Bar Harbor (also a 20-25 min drive). We frequented Bar Harbor but also were able to check out some of the cuter "lil sibling" neighborhoods such as SW Harbor and NE Harbor which both had great restaurants and excellent ice cream shops. Recommendations from our stay: definitely try the blueberry pie at Side Street Cafe and enjoy ice cream at the Salt Shop in SW Harbor. The scones at Colonel's in NE Harbor were delicious. With an infant, make sure you research hikes in advance - we recommend Jordan Pond Loop (my favorite hike) as well as the Carriage Roads and Ship's Harbor. There were many more on our list that we didn't have time to get to. Our hosts - Karen and Aaron - were so communicative and delightful. We wished we had a chance to check out the massages, floats, and yoga available onsite but also ran out of time!
We had the best weekend staying here. The accommodations were perfect for the two of us and the fur baby. Easy drive to restaurants, hikes, etc. We will be recommending it to all our family and friends and will definitely be coming back!
Absolutely loved the yurt. Setting was lovely, and everything we wanted
was close by. Thank you, Karen and Aaron, for providing this unique
experience!
Hosts were very kind and responsive. The property was quiet and comfortable. It is pet friendly but it should be noted you can not leave your pet alone for more than an hour
