"Our room within the Public House was large enough and quaintly furnished. The bed was comfortable, but my husband found the pillows to be too soft for his comfort. The bedding smelled excessively of bleach. On Saturday, there was an event in one of the dining rooms of the inn. The amplified voice of the speaker and the attendees’ responses easily carried into our room and were annoying. The bakery was a nice treat. However, the complementary breakfast items included with the price of the room were very limited. Other items available for purchase from about $5 to $8 each looked delicious. The coffee and hot drinks bar was well stocked and well-tended by staff, but a pitcher of cold water would have been appreciated. Also, it was in a compact area and became crowded with 3 or more people jostling to prepare their drinks. We ate in the tavern restaurant one evening. There is a 10% discount for hotel guests if you notify the wait staff that you are staying there. We just had a light meal of clam chowder and salad. We started with an appetizer of their homemade potato chips—they were delicious! Too bad it doesn’t come in a small and large size—it’s way too much for 2 people! The salad was fresh, with better vegetables than usually provided in a house salad (no iceberg lettuce here!) and the dressing complemented it well. My husband thought the chowder was excellent, thick and chunky, the way he likes it. I thought it was just OK, with few clams and lacking flavor."

"The hotel was under construction. This should have been noted on the website. While the room was clean, the remaining portion of the hotel was not. Understandable near the construction area, however, the stairs were not vacuumed and dirty. They did not provide the breakfast as noted. There was a note at the front desk when you came in saying that they weren't serving breakfast and you can leave if you wanted to. Where are you going to go at the very last minute? You have no choice but to stay. Discounts should be provided for these issues."

"Property was clean, parking was included which was nice, rooms where clean as well. Check in took a while though, had to wait in line for a good 15-20 minutes because only 1 person was running the front desk."

"The room was spacious with a kitchenette and sofa. The complimentary breakfast included a croissant egg sandwich with a sausage patty and cheese. There was peach juice and orange juice and cut up fruit. It was a very nice hotel. I traveled by train and this hotel is across the traffic circle from the train station. Very easy to walk to."
