Pros and Cons

Posted 21-Apr-2016
Pros: The location is superb, adjacent to downtown and walkable to everything. Perfect for those who don't want to worry about driving and parking, especially after a night in Asheville experiencing food and drink. Staff was welcoming and pleasant. There is a restaurant I did not try. Cons: the room was clean and comfortable, but the air conditioner was aggressively loud and wheezy... Kept me awake. The water pressure in the shower and toilet was dismal. Pool closed for repairs. The general demeanor of the place is rather generic. Especially the lobby. But as they say, location, location, location.

Good location. That's about it.

Posted 16-Apr-2016
Pros: Location. Nice staff.
Cons: Cleanliness. The building is old and the current renovations are superficial.
Good location but this hotel is in need of more extensive renovation. Cleanliness was not as good as it should be. Especially the bathtub.

Simple, clean hotel close to downtown Asheville

Posted 6-Apr-2016
After driving 9 hours, we were looking for a hotel within walking distance from downtown. This was perfect! It was far enough from the expressway to be quiet at night (our room was on the expressway side of the building), and close enough that we could easily walk downtown for dinner, shopping and entertainment. Staff was friendly, and helpful with directions and recommendations. I had read reviews about a lack of outlets, but a surge protector had been added for convenience. The only downside was noise. There was a loud elevator, and I could also hear flushing of toilets in other rooms.

Conveniently located to downtown Asheville

Posted 26-Mar-2016
Pros: Proximity to downtown.
Cons: Total Reno and enforcing guidelines
This hotel needs renovation. Certain areas around the hallways specially the carpets require deep cleaning. Elevator floor cracked and some broken tiles. Guests smoking by the main door entrance despite NO SMOKING SIGNS and the receptionists ignoring the smokers. The hotel is over priced

worse night ever in a hotel room

This hotel was clean and friendly staff but electrical system very bad and walls very thin? You can hear everything in the next room. Needs to be gutted and rebuilt

No-frills hotel in great location

Posted 15-Mar-2016
Pros: Functionality and location, mainly. Parking is also good.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: Downtown Asheville has restaurants and music venues and is 1 1/2 blocks from the hotel.
This hotel doesn't have a great view and is certainly not luxurious, but it is clean, well-managed, and only 1 1/2 blocks from the downtown restaurants, clubs, and live music. There is no free breakfast, which is a good thing in my opinion, because the chains that offer "free" breakfasts build the cost into the room charge and serve warmed--over convenience store food that I never eat anyway.

Convenient Downtown Location

Posted 18-Feb-2016
We stayed one night while traveling through Asheville. We wanted to be close to downtown for the convince of the shopping and dining there. This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of pretty much anything downtown. The self-parking is easy and free, which is a plus and not common in a city. The hotel itself is modern and updated, but it's an older building. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice, clean, but small. The water pressure was not great. The A/C unit in our room didn't work, but we didn't need it. The internet speed was fast and the cost was free. There is no free breakfast at this hotel. For the low price during this off season, it was worth every penny. But if I was paying much more, I would look for a place with better options.
