Our choice of the Hotel Basilica was inspired. The hotel is a heritage hotel, formally the family home of one of the heroes of the independence struggle of Ecuador. The staff on arrival were throughout ,welcoming,hugely helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. The location is stunning in the midst of the UNESCO Heritage old city of Quito. Many of the most important sites in the city are easily accessible by foot from the Hotel. The Hotel arranged extremely good pick up from the airport and drop off at the airport and departure. our room was immaculately clean and cleaned regularly with example with example supplies of coffee 24 hours available.

Hotel was like a jig saw puzzle with lots of stairways and areas. Still had construction going on. Rooms were very nice but no privacy unless you close your curtains. Room safes did not work in either of our rooms. You cannot flush toilet paper due to old pipes. Area did not feel very safe but we did not need to leave the hotel without a guide since the dining in the hotel was great. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Overall really nice experience, just have to improve the noice insolation on rooms located facing the main road.
