"It’s in a great location. The manager during check in was great. The line was backed up, and he recognized that and apologized for the line and offered wine to help the mood as most people were there for a concert. The front desk staff could have been more energetic but they were still very cordial. Our room was very clean and the AC worked. The only complaint of the room was that the bathroom was dated. The hot water was so so the morning of check out. The other elevators must be fixed. Two operating elevators in a hotel that size is unacceptable. Other small improvements include ceiling tiles that need replaced. Overall, it was a place to sleep but not a place to stay. A little TLC could help improve the property move to a place people want to come back to. "

"This hotel has awful customer service. We booked this hotel for a concert that was happening in Columbus since we were not from here. When we arrived at check in time, 4pm, we were told that our room was not ready and that they would call us when it was. When we tried to check in on the status an hour later at 5pm we were told that the room would not be ready until after we would need to leave for the concert. When I called the next day about the situation the lady on the phone was extremely rude and kept questioning me about how many times I tried to check in, and told me that sometimes rooms just aren’t ready until 5 even though check in is listed at 4, as if it were my fault for the room not being ready. They never apologized or took accountability for a clear mistake on their behalf. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who is traveling in for an event because MANY rooms were not ready until well after 5pm. Save yourself the trouble and book any other hotel in the area."

"Horrible experience I flew to Columbus for a funeral with a room booked at the Sonesta Simply Suite. Upon my evening arrival, the parking lot was pitch black at 9pm with no lights to be found. After finally arriving in the lobby, I was met by an employee who immediately stated they were overbooked. Her focus was merely to make sure I knew they had no room for me. After going back and forth with her, asking why there was no prior notification, she said that happens all the time with their system. Almost 400 miles from home with no room, i was very upset. I will never reserve another room here again. "
