"Central Portland"
My wife and I wanted to explore Portland and area and we stayed for three nights. The hotel was centrally located and ideal for our purposes. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The hotel has a unique style of decor which is tasteful, slightly eclectic and not "corporate," a feature we enjoyed. The room was spacious, clean, pleasant and inviting. The beds were very comfortable and the linen service was excellent. We ate at the hotel restaurant three times for breakfast and dinner and found it very much to our liking. Somewhat "traditional" food (in a city that seems to feature anything but that) but prepared to the highest standards. Our service was top-notch. Highly recommended hotel for central Portand.

"Quirky Hotel Puts A Bird On It!"
We're from NYC and wanted the Portland experience for our vacation with a few roadtrips for some quality hiking. Kimpton is centrally located and had a quirky look. Our hotel room had wallpaper of ducks flying around the room. Even our lamp had duck feet. There are so many other decorating features that are too numerous to list here but our favorite part of the room was the funky zebra and cheetah robes provided. We enjoyed our first night's happy hour with a giant chess board on the floor. Some nights there was live music and a very engaging tarot reader. Early in the morning, coffee, tea and a newspaper would be provided. Many people brought dogs to the hotel but you'd never know it throughout the night. It was really quiet. They even had a welcome poster and treats for the dogs staying at the hotel. My husband enjoyed the complimentary bike he used along the waterfront and I liked the close proximity to the famous VooDoo Doughnuts, Powell Bookstore, The Original Diner, and the RedStar Restaurant. We were a 45 minute drive away from the Multnohmah Falls and a 1.5 hr. drive way from Silver Falls State Park. Great Hiking! Ten minute walking distance to the Lan Su Chinese Garden where there's a lovely tea ceremony. We also checked out the Portland Art Museum and the Esplanade. I wish we got around to seeing the Saturday outdoor markets (we took a 3 hour road trip to Cape Perpetua instead) and would love to check out a Ted Talks or a Jazz concert at STARS next time. Loved it!

"Amazing customer service"
We recently stayed at the Kimpton for my birthday. The hotel was adorable and so trendy with cool art work at every turn. The day of my birthday they upgraded us and sent champagne and cookies to our new room. I was completely blown away by the extra effort they put in to make our trip amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Awesome river front downtown hotel; Great staff"
We live in Portland and wanted a special outing downtown before we married the next day. A sunny day, we headed downtown and stopped by the hotel to check in early. Riley greeted us and checked us in. She was attentive and took care of all of our questions. As we were conversing we shared that we were getting married the next day. She and other staff were very excited for us. Our 3rd floor room had a beautiful view of the waterfront, was very spacious and attractive. Shortly after arriving, Riley delivered a bottle of great champagne and some yummy chocolate in celebration of our wedding. The dining room staff and hostess were gracious and authentic. We got lunch at a favorite food cart and picnicked in a park then took a long walk along the river front. Later that evening, we walked to a restaurant for a great dinner. It was a wonderful experience and stay! Thank you so much.

"Classic downtown hotel. "
Heath man never fails to satisfy. The new restaurant has a few kinks to work out but the decor was very well done. Overall, my first choice in Portland.
