What an amazing experience. I felt so renewed after my short stay and planned my next visit while I was there. Time spent here is an absolute gift to yourself! Rooms, spa, restaurant, location- just perfect. My new go-to spot for a local staycation.
Cozy rooms, wonderful neighborhood, customer service was great, spa was divine, Alberta St Coffee Shop was AMAZING (Will went above and beyond for us), lots of walkable shops and delicious food nearby. We will absolutely be back.
Absolutely loved my stay at the Cascade Hotel! The neighborhood location is perfect—walkable, vibrant, and gives you a true Portland experience. The hotel itself is top-notch, with 5-star amenities and a staff that goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. One of the absolute highlights was the thermal springs—an unforgettable experience and a must-visit for anyone staying here. I’ll definitely be back!

I had a great time there the room was good did have trouble with casting with my phone in one of the TV’s and was buffering in and out while casting. The spa was great loved the atmosphere in there.
Beautiful, peaceful space. High-end and pleasant without being gaudy. Felt nice to be there, but the main attraction is the Thermal Spa which is a must. Felt like a high-end asian-style bath. This was a pleasant trip!
Wonderful relaxing hotel. First rate facility. Everything new and clean. Staff was very friendly and remembered our names and travel plans. Welcomed back every night by staff on duty. The smell when you walked into the door made you feel like it was a place you wanted to be.
comfortable, clean and cool place to stay and chill. Thermal pools are relaxing but I wish they will post what minerals are used in the mineral pool and the benefits it provides.
Located right in the middle of a highly residential area along Alberta arts district street. Friendly neighborhood.
An impeccably clean modern hotel with accommodating staff and a welcome lack of kids (no one under 21 is allowed in the spa area, and since the spa is the main attraction of the hotel, families with children probably wouldn't choose this place first).
The hotel advertises thermal "springs" but the water is regular city water heated below the pool area and pumped into various soaking/swimming pools. Chemicals are added to the pools, resulting in a discernible smell. The limitation on the number of guests in the spa/pool area at any given time is a real plus; the area was never crowded, and the "silence" policy created a serene atmosphere. At $100 for three hours of access which even hotel guests must pay, the price seems high to me. There is also a sizable resort "amenity" fee on top of the pay-to-soak spa policy; it is unclear what, if any, additional amenities are offered for that fee.
The rooms are clean, uncluttered, and furnished in an eco-Ikea aesthetic with materials that look a lot like particleboard. I did appreciate the fridge, sink, and mini-kitchen, which allowed us to heat up simple meals in the room. And the fact that the room had a washer/dryer was really nice.
The price to value ratio was not compelling for me, but I do want to thank the amazing staff who were uniformly kind, helpful, and authentically friendly.
I believe the hotel had only been open a few weeks when we visited. Parts of it are still under construction and should only make the experience more interesting once it's completed. We stayed in the top floor of a loft suite. The room had a lot of "wow" factors I enjoyed like the motorized curtains and high ceilings. I felt like an old lady on the spiral staircase, as my knee hurt in the tight twisting body movements, moving up the stairs. My husband mentioned his pillow was horribly stiff. The front desk staff informed us, the complaint was warranted as they only stuff pillows with natural materials which is a decision they are reconsidering. But overall the room was excellent. The thermal pools, tubs, sauna etc were outstanding. The one important safety issue they should address is the slippery floors which could use some rubber matting. If you really want to impress your guests who pay a hefty room charge, offer the Thermal pools for free/ or a nominal fee like $25 but charging $50-100 for a hotel guest seems high considering we paid $500/night for the hotel.
Our stay at Cascada Hotel was fantastic. While the hotel is still under construction, the noise was minimal and didn’t impact our experience.
Check-in could be improved with staff assistance for luggage, as we had to use a cart ourselves. The wristband entry system for rooms was a bit tricky, and I prefer key cards.
The spa experience was amazing, though clearer information about services would be helpful, either online or at check-in. Providing guests with this info in advance would make the experience smoother. The main pool bar was closed, but water and tea were available. The ambiance was everything here. More than two towels at the spa would also be a nice touch.
We appreciated the pet-friendly atmosphere, but offering pet bowls, a bed, and treats would enhance the experience, as many pet-friendly hotels do.
Although we didn’t get to try the restaurant (due to our dog), the menu and decor looked wonderful. Room service would have been a great option, but we know it’s coming soon. The area around the hotel had plenty of great options.
The room was amazing, with standout lighting and design details. However extra kitchen towels, and cutlery for the kitchenette would be a helpful addition. The pillows were a bit firm for our liking.
I'd been to the thermal springs many times and was looking forward to a one-night staycation. Upon checking in, I found that my keycard and wristband didn't work. I had to go to the front desk, where they said they'd fixed them. Up to the 4th floor; still didn't work. I called for help and was helped promptly. This wasn't a huge deal to me, but they said this was a common problem, so that should probably be solved.
The room itself was very nice and clean, though I found the bed/pillows exceptionally firm and the sheets a bit scratchy. Everything still felt high-quality, though.
The real issue with this hotel is the food, or lack thereof. I didn't realize Terra Mae was closed on Sundays, which is their ONLY restaurant right now. As in, if Terra Mae isn't open, you will not be getting fed (besides grab and go options in the coffee shop). No room service, nothing, which I found shocking for the price tag.
Furthermore, the steam room was broken. Not a huge deal again, but these things add up. I left feeling all right about the experience but somewhat disappointed. $400 a night is a huge price tag without perks like room service, and even the thermal springs costs paying guests. I think Casada could use some temporary fixes until the food situation is figured out, which it sounds like they're working on. Maybe waived thermal springs fees for all paying guests or a gift card to the restaurant. Something to justify the cost of basically just a room.
The bed and bedding was very comfortable! I wish they blocked out a certain number of spa “spots” for hotel guests because it was VERY crowded in the morning.
The spa/mineral pools are amazing. Particularly the silent pools. In one overnight I spent 6 hours in the pools. The room was lovely. Fun to be in such a thoughtfully designed building. And the spa…
Thermal spas were lovely. No accommodation for hotel guests at restaurant. Hotel felt like a pricy after thought. Extremely noisy above and outside. Then construction @ 7 am. Housekeeping loud chatting in the hallways. Multiple room key malfunctions. Front desk dismissive. Location iffy, lots of graffiti, uncomfortable for me. But again, spas were nice.
