"Clean property, friendly staff"

"Attached to the thermal baths and Nordic Spa is super convenient (access included in hotel rate). Staff try really hard to make it a pleasant experience. The rooms are reasonably up to date, though the bathrooms are smallish, particularly the showers. Dining options are slightly limited with the onsite buffet and the nearby Chalet a la carte Swiss traditional food. The included breakfast was decent basic offering, not high end. Overall a very pleasant and convenient way to do the Bains. "

"I had booked 3 double rooms for a ski week. The receptionst (Alex) was extremley helpful and the hotel upgraded our rooms to premium. All the staff were great, Thomas even drove us to the ski lift on the first day and recommended a good ski hire shop. Breakfast was great with a large choice of hot and cold options. The sauna is a good addition to the hotel especially after a cold day on the mountain and the ski room is modern with plenty of racks for drying boots, gloves etc. The rooms were...

"It was the ideal spot for a fantastic ski vacation. Literally in the shadow of Grand Montets perhaps the best skiing in the world! Very close to village with some nice restaurants and a quick walk to train or bus we will be back for sure."

"Great location, less than 10min walk from the train station. Staff were very friendly. Great buffet breakfast with hard boiled eggs, breads, meats and cheeses, cereals, espresso. Walking distance down to the lake or up to the castle area. Transit card included which I didn't not use. "

"The view of the lake and the mountains is incredible. A short 5 minutes walk to the train and also a mini beach just after the train station. Will stay here again. The restaurant next door - Restaurant Masaniello - serves really good food too. As other guests have mentioned, there is some problem with the hairdryer. In my case it works for 30 seconds then it stopped. After putting it down for 1 minute it functions again for a short time. and repeat... Besides that, not all charging...

"We chose modern times hotel for the Charlie Chaplin theme and were impressed at what an incredible hotel this was! Super modern and clean with a great and helpful staff! Modern times exceeded are expectations!"

"The staff were so lovely and really helpful. The room is a good size and loved that the mini bar was included in the price. They have a Bluetooth speaker too! The views are incredible, it’s a fantastic location. The new sunbathing deck is a great addition. Breakfast was delicious. The only thing for me that was a little annoying is that the rooms are not sound proofed. You do hear traffic and the occasional roudy teenager! But it certainly didn’t spoil our stay. We would definitely stay again....

"Starling hotel is an amazing option to stay in Lausanne. We stayed for 5 nights. This is our second stay in the same hotel. Very convenient place to stay. Helpful and Welcoming front desk team and cafe staff. Good breakfast. Clean room and hardworking housekeeping. Nice view from the room. Highly recommend this place if you want to spend few days in beautiful Lausanne."

"If arriving by car, beware. Two lanes of taxi rank in front of hotel. No where for us to park. Had to find a public car park, then walk to hotel to check in. Staff advised us to park just off footpath then unload bags from car. Then given instructions of hotel accredited car park which is a 8 minute walk away. If arriving by train, no worries, as station opposite hotel. Think that hotel website could give forward warnings of car parking situation in advance."
