Grand River Hotel

2/10 Terrible

"The beds were mostly clean, the runners on top of the covers at the foot of the bed were dirty. The grout in the shower looked disgusting, the carpets were all stained up, and the room had a weird smell. The beds were definitely old and very uncomfortable. The elevator kept breaking down and wouldn't move. The staff just said to push the button harder but it didn't do anything. The alarm would go off and eventually the door would close and eventually the alarm would stop and it would go up. No inspection certificates shown in the elevator, so who knows when or if it was last inspected. The breakfast options were honestly sad. One food item was not refilled, so we don't even know what it was, there was scrambled eggs and shriveled looking sausage as the hot options, and carafe of orange juice and milk available. The hotel is very much outdated and in need of serious remodeling and upgrades. No outlets near the beds at all. No USB, and a very old power strip was used for the appliances in the room. The staff was not very warm or friendly, just very blah. It was the cheapest option, and now we know why. The walls were also very thin and you could hear everything in the halls, and feel when the neighbor bumped the shared walls. Fine place to stay if you simply want a place to sleep that's safe and fairly clean enough. But if you have back issues, and/or need to use an elevator - just stay away."

". I am in a domestic violence situation in another town and I needed a safe place to be and stay with my 2 service animals so I booked the grand vista hotel in parachute for friday Saturday Sunday leave on Monday or try and stay a few more days. Cause I was gonna relocate there. The peraon who was to pick me up Monday at check out left me there stranded. I notified the front desk and told them the details. They said i Cloud leave my stuff in the meeting room until I could find help getting home or help paying another night. I returned for my belonging to find the door was locked and no one had the key all my items including my wallet was there. My food my dogs food. I could not get my belonging so the front desk employee said I could stay there she would comp the room.i told her I had 58 dollars but my wallet was in that locked room she said it's fine. .10:57 am the owner came banging on my door he said get ur stuff and get out. I said OK. Give me a minute he said u pay for room I take what m money u have . The. He said get out of here and never come back . I tried to explain the domestic situation he said he did not care. I had 4 bags and 2 dogs stranded in a town I never been to before. He followed me out the door and seen I was struggling with the bags and dogs he said get out of here. I never have been so upset over someone that rude and heartless... owner is an ass uncaring and mean. They lost the key so my stuff was unavailable to me . I needed to be safe ."
