"Good location and serviceat a good price."
The location was great, right across the street from the palace and only a short walk from the subway. The staff was courteous and friendly. The people at the front desk spoke English and were helpful. As a budget conscious traveler the price was excellent and the room was the best by far of the hotels I have stayed at so far on my month long trek across Japan(I am in my thirties and by no means a hostel backpacker.)

"Great Hotel for a Brief Stay"
The short - Stay here if you are in Kyoto for a few days. The Medium - I wound up on business travel in Japan and took a few days to see the country. I was looking for a base from which to walk around the city and this fit the bill. It is very close to the train station (I would recommend a cab if you have baggage) and I spent an evening and an entire day walking around Kyoto. I walk a lot...so a a hefty jaunt is not a big deal...and I walked about 15 miles while I was there...and saw a tremendous amount. If you want to see more, use the buses and cabs (though it gets a bit pricey). The hotel was perfect for what I needed, it was clean, convenient, comfortable, and in a part of the city that felt entirely safe.

"Great Location Outweighs Room Size"
This room was small. Yes, I read other reviews which all commented on the small room size but I was still a little surprised. We booked a King Room and were given Room 606 which was a corner room. Despite the fact that the room overlooked the main street, it was quiet. The room was very clean and modernly furnished. However, did I mention that the room was small. The bed took up most of the space in the room. It was pushed up against the wall on one side, leaving only a narrow walking path along the other side by the window. There was a small desk area and a small fridge. The entrance to the bathroom was a little odd with a step up of 6-8 inches. Overall, the room was comfortable and a good value. We arrived at Kyoto Station and took Bus Route # 205 and after 7 stops arrived at the hotel. In other reviews, people commented that the hotel was difficult to find because the entrance is off the side street but we had no problem. As soon as we got off the bus, we looked for the 7-11 and saw a sign with an arrow pointing in the direction of the hotel entrance. The check in process was easy. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel had an ice machine and two washer/dryer units that were available for guest use FREE! Guests were only required to provide their own laundry detergent. There is no restaurant at the hotel but there are plenty of good places within walking distance.

"The room for 3 people is too small..."
Local is near the JR station. Staff are nice and willing to help. It was very strange as there is no free drinking water or water heater provided but ice machine with a beverage machine at some floor. There room for 3 people is too small, especially the bathroom, and we even cannot open 2 luggage at the time.

"Wonderful view hotel overlooking Lake Biwa"
Beautiful location, and excellent facilities with sweeping view of Lake Biwa. Restaurants in the hotel had 'package' all-inclusive dinner options or buffets, which was contrary to our habits. The breakfast buffet was very complete and a good choice.

"Trendy, new, and modem hotel"
First of all, i hardly give hotel a review, but for one, I have to give some good feedback as it deserves. Point 1) Very friendly staffs no matter what time you approach them and ask for information about Kyoto and help. Including early in the morning for breakfast or late even for their compliment supple. Point 2) Hotel location is really convenient, so close to the train exit when we came from Osaka with 2 big 2 small luggages. (we took little time to find it as it entrance is in small alley) close to Gion, shopping street malls, bus stops. Point 3) Interior design is modern while blending the traditional japanese artworks. In room facilities are very user friendly, good lighting design for your comfort, free movies on TV(in Aus is paid), amazed fancy shower set plus massage function, quite top range japanese toilet seat( heated, spray, blow dry, music), Humidifier plus Air-purifier(yes important is Kyoto is dry). P.S. every room even equipped a Latest panasonic top range hair dryer (16,000 yen) which only is only sold in Japan. we just love it so much. The room is decent size, but very spacious, but i believe they do their best to provide a pleasant staying time for all visitors. at least we really enjoy our time in there.

"Big room, perfect location"
The biggest hotel room in Japan. The room is similar size to the North American room size hotel. The location is right below the Kyoto Tower, and next to the Kyoto central station (bus and train). You practically can go anywhere from this station. They have prepared the buses to go to the temples from the station, you just need to wait in line for the bus. Everything is here, restaurants, Porta (underground shopping area), the Cube shopping area. I highly recommend this hotel. I will stay at this hotel if I go back to Kyoto again.

"Excellent location with all the amenities."
My daughter and I stayed here for just two nights. Excellent location, just minutes away from the metro, shopping, and surrounded by good restaurants. We had a spacious room on the eighth floor, two double beds. The room was immaculate and had all the travel amenities you needed.
