"People"
The people were actively helping my girl friend and me out. I needed a map and they printed one for me. They made me feel like home. If I needed anything they would try their best to help out. However, I didn't love the neighborhood.

"Love The Opal"
Close to downtown SF, accessible to all the bus lines so you can go anywhere in the city or catch the BART or Cal Trans - we went to San Carlos to celebrate my Mother's 90th Birthday. I was born & raise in SF so know my way around but my Mom really knows the bus lines going to Cliff House, Haight-Ashbury, GGB, Palace of Fine Arts (100 yrs old this yr 1915), Ferry Bldg - we only took a taxi once, saved a fortune! Generous continental breakfast, thanks! Would have appreciated 2 wake-up calls we never got - s/d learn how to use my cell phone as an alarm.

"Last minute SF hotel near shopping and ballpark"
Last minute hotel for overnight stay after Giants game. Hotel borders a seedy neighborhood, BUT is near good downtown shopping and near Powell Street Metro and BART. Easy walking distance to restaurants - try Cafe Mason for breakfast (Farmer Brown restaurant adjacent to hotel for weekend brunch).

"Mid town San Francisco hotel."
The hotel was clean and pleasant as was the staff. The location was in an alley that was not the safest feeling, but we had no actual problems. We did opt for valet parking in a secure lot (at an additional $28.00) rather than taking our chances with a hard to find street spot. The part of mid town the hotel was located in didn't offer much for sight seeing, but was not far from other San Francisco activities. For the price ($150.00 per night) we were satisfied with what we got.

"Basic, but clean. About right for the price"
Basic room, quite small. Old, but clean. Great location. And, the main bonus is the free parking, which is a major benefit in San Francisco. For the price, it's about right, bearing in mind what the more upscale hotels in San Francisco cost. Staff all very helpful. Free breakfast was donuts and croissants, with hot water for tea and coffee.

"Walk to Union Square"
The hotel is quite old and not fancy but it was very clean and the staff were very good. The breakfast area is small so arrive early to avoid a lineup and get a seat. It is within easy walking distance of Union Square .

"clean hotel for budget conscious"
I've stayed at this hotel a few times, I go back because the price for San Fransisco city area is pretty reasonable and includes free parking. the rooms have always been clean and comfortable. I have never had any issues. a couple blocks down on Polk street theres Starbuck's and Peet's coffee and a Walgreens among lots of other shops and restaurants all a short walk away.

You can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and unique culture of San Francisco and still have money left over for some sourdough.

One of San Francisco’s most legendary landmarks, the Golden Gate Bridge, is free to explore. There are walkways on both sides of the bridge, and you can stroll nearly 5 km across the Golden Gate Strait to capture that perfect moment when the San Francisco fog begins to lift, revealing the city. Stick with the theme and head to Golden Gate Park next. This 1,000-acre public green space bears a striking resemblance to New York City’s Central Park, but Golden Gate Park offers a charm all its own. After exploring its lush trails and quiet waterways, you’ll work up an appetite, so why not grab some dinner at the Beach Chalet? Located at the western edge of the park, facing the Pacific Ocean, the Beach Chalet’s cuisine features salads, seafood, and burgers to start. You won’t go home hungry!

San Francisco is a city that loves its food, and you’ll want to sample all of it. Book a 2-star hotel in San Francisco to ensure you have plenty of spending money left over. A cheap hotel deal will leave you with enough funding to head to Fisherman’s Wharf, where you can sample clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, or fresh-caught crab. Fisherman’s Wharf is also the place to snap pictures of the iconic sea lions that take up residence there, as well as find souvenirs for your loved ones.

Make sure you’ve got the funding to spend on those souvenirs (and more food) by booking your trip with Expedia.ca. We offer the best cheap deals on hotels in the City by the Bay, meaning you may leave your heart in San Francisco, but you won’t need to leave your wallet.
