The hotel was perfect for the price we paid. The room was small but decorated well and came with a mini fridge and microwave which was unexpected. The downfall is the location and the shared bathroom, but overall our stay was nice.

"good location, nice neighborhood and convenient."
The bed was hard and the pillows were older than me. The people were very friendly, I have special dietary needs, and they put food in the refrigerator for me since the hotel rooms don't have a mini-fridge.

Civic Center Motor Inn

"Perfect SOMA Room for Exploring Tourist"
Very clean yet typical motor inn. Rooms on 2 levels with outside access. I was out the door and to all the buses in 7 minutes on foot. Micro, fridge, cable, wifi, great air/heat. Nothing lacking. This place was a perfect "home base" for this on foot tourist. SOMA is a very mixed area. Young techies paying $6,000 a month for old 1 bedroom apts. yet lots of homeless on the streets. But don't be put off by that. I never felt threatened, day or night. I found interesting little cafes and shops nearby. And the trendiest dance clubs and nice alternative/punk/metal club/cafe, 3 blocks away. Ethnic food trucks at night and homeless grilling chicken and chops on makeshift grills on the street corner for a couple bucks. Delicious! Artsy little coffee shops. A true San Francisco experience.

Inn on Folsom

"Great hotel for reasonable price"
When we arrived to the hotel we got immediate assistance from staff. This inn is run by a very nice family. Very clean rooms and well decorated. You get a room with a sink and mirror in it and they have individually locking bathrooms and showers outside the bedrooms. You would never know you were sharing a shower with other guests because they clean them so often it's new and fresh each time. We had a wonderful experience

"Decent hotel in the city with nice location "
Nice place to walk around to areas in the city including cable cars, restaurants, shops and even the fishermans wharf if you're willing to walk a mile or so. Hotel staff let me park my car there before check in time.

Hotel Metropolis - San Francisco Hotels
Rating: 2.5 Stars

Hotel Metropolis

25 Mason Street, San Francisco - Map
"Nice hotel, central location"
In town on business. The Metropolis is a great place to stay in a central location. The only down side, which goes for most of this part of the city, is that the quarter is infested with the most aggressive panhandlers in the country.

You can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and unique culture of San Francisco and still have money left over for some sourdough.

One of San Francisco’s most legendary landmarks, the Golden Gate Bridge, is free to explore. There are walkways on both sides of the bridge, and you can stroll nearly 5 km across the Golden Gate Strait to capture that perfect moment when the San Francisco fog begins to lift, revealing the city. Stick with the theme and head to Golden Gate Park next. This 1,000-acre public green space bears a striking resemblance to New York City’s Central Park, but Golden Gate Park offers a charm all its own. After exploring its lush trails and quiet waterways, you’ll work up an appetite, so why not grab some dinner at the Beach Chalet? Located at the western edge of the park, facing the Pacific Ocean, the Beach Chalet’s cuisine features salads, seafood, and burgers to start. You won’t go home hungry!

San Francisco is a city that loves its food, and you’ll want to sample all of it. Book a 2-star hotel in San Francisco to ensure you have plenty of spending money left over. A cheap hotel deal will leave you with enough funding to head to Fisherman’s Wharf, where you can sample clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, or fresh-caught crab. Fisherman’s Wharf is also the place to snap pictures of the iconic sea lions that take up residence there, as well as find souvenirs for your loved ones.

Make sure you’ve got the funding to spend on those souvenirs (and more food) by booking your trip with We offer the best cheap deals on hotels in the City by the Bay, meaning you may leave your heart in San Francisco, but you won’t need to leave your wallet.
