Beautiful view of the marina

Posted 10-Sep-2014
Pros: Close to the marina and restaurants. Helpful courteous staff.
Cons: The rooms could be up dated, however wasn't in Mexico to stay in the room.
Location: Shopping and short distance (taxi) to walk the Malaccan.
Stayed two nights. Food was good and the hotel and restaurant staff was excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pool was nice size and close to the bar!

Great location if you're seeking peace and quiet.

Posted 5-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, size of room, price (off-season special rate was an incredible deal), staff
Cons: The addition of a small refrigerator to rooms would be great. My room was lovely and clean, but had no hair dryer, coffee maker, or access to ice
Location: The property is right on the Marina. Two minute walk to shops, convenience store and bars/restaurants. Brando's and Chappy's are icons
The hotel is old, but full of character and well-staffed and well-maintained. It satisfied basic needs (plenty of hot water, clean, comfortable bed and air conditioning) as well as providing a great view and spacious room. Plenty of shops, bars and good restaurants within easy strolling distance and fast access to bus and taxi. When the front desk person calls you a cab, it will be there in less than three minutes. Flamingo's staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Gregorio, the bar/restaurant manager and sometime gardener, is a gem.

Mexican vacation

Pros: We love the charm and location of this hotel.
Location: This hotel is in the marina. There are many restaurants and bars as well as the ability to go on boating excursions.
This is our 3rd visit to the Flamingos. We were there for four nights. The rooms are nice and staff friendly.

Convenient hotel hotel close to airport

Posted 1-May-2014
I chose this hotel based on price and proximity to the airport as I I was only going to be staying for 14 hours. The front desk staff were excellent. The room was huge with a king bed and a large private balcony looking onto the Marina. Room was very clean. Water in the shower was hot if you are patient. Breakfast buffet was typical. For a three star hotel the Flamingo was excellent.

Loved the sweet things best

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: It was within walking distance of so many places I needed to be. The staff was very kind, friendly, and accomodating.
Cons: I needed a washcloth each day, which was not provided, and had to use one of my own hankies instead.
Location: Just a lot to see and do.
Loved the towels folded like hearts and the pretty fresh flowers in the room the second night. Good breakfast too.

Clean, affordable hotel in the Marina.

Posted 9-Apr-2014
Clean, affordable, safe hotel. The hotel is a bit dated, but it has charm. My room was clean, and the staff was friendly. There were always at least one security guard visible, and the hotel was quiet for the most part. My only complaints are 1) the room walls are not soundproof at all, and I happened to be next door to a guy who made very loud, strange grunting noises periodically (I think he was drunk the entire duration of my stay [10 days]). It actually didn't bother me because it wasn't often enough to be disruptive, just a bit disturbing when it did happen. Had I complained, I am sure the hotel would have happily either moved me to a different room, or had security ask him to quiet down. In fact, I did complain about the noise of my other neighbors TV volume at one point, and they immediately sent a security guard to very politely ask them to turn the volume down. 2) The pillows in the rooms are horribly uncomfortable. I recommend bringing your own. Other than these minor issues, I had a great stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to individuals or families looking for a clean, affordable hotel in the marina. When I return to Vallarta, I will likely stay here again.

Perfect location

Very pleased with continuing improvements in the hotel lately. Newly repainted, new furnishings in the restaurant, lovely grounds and pool. Still need to update some furnishings in the rooms but overall a good fit for us on our frequent overnights in PV.

Diamond in the rough

Posted 5-Apr-2014
We have stayed here twice. We love love love the staff. We enjoyed the convenience of the shops marina and restaurants nearby. Food is limited but good. The shrimp ceviche is a mountain of delicious shrimp. We would like to see coffee pots and hair dryers in the room. Leo at the front desk is worth his weight in gold -very friendly and helpful. Our maid Oli was superbly attentive and fastidious about cleaning our room. The rooms are very run down. Please get new furniture. We were afraid to sit on it. Beds are comfortable and linens clean. You have to ask for wash cloths. We really appreciated the very visible security staff. The views of the marina are impeccably beautiful.
