"Loved the location, it is just steps from the Royal Mile and lots of attractions. The Tolbooth Tavern nearby was a great find. The building itself is really good as well. There is are lot of stairs, but also a lot of space which was very good for our famiy stay. The building does need some updates (ie carpet on stairs looks dingy, and there are banged up walls in the stairway is likely from lots of travellers). "Parking was slightly inconvenient (10 min walk away, charged per hour (but hotel gave voucher for discount)). Staff was super friendly and helpful. Location was right on the Royal Mile, 10 walk (at most) to Edinburgh Castle! Right next to a Starbucks and a delicious bakery, too. Fire alarm went off at 11:45pm the night before we had to wake up early to leave, so that was annoying, but not the hotel's fault. They did what they could to get us back inside as quickly as possible when safe. "
